Star Wars Separatist Brick Destroyer Ultimate Collector Series
While fans scream out upon seeing yet another UCS Millennium Falcon (whether it’s in joy or angst is a different discussion altogether), flying right under the radar is the Separatist Brick Destroyer, or SBD, in LEGO Ultimate Series Collector scale. I must say this design by L-DI-EGO is one of the best re-imaginings of the humble LEGO brick separator. The intense greebling makes it all more realistic and I think it definitely needs to be considered for an upcoming Star Wars movie. After all, the Slave 1 reminds me of a household iron, I don’t see why this can’t be part of the lineup.

Which LEGO sets have the most part count of a single element? [Feature]
LEGO enthusiasts love uncovering every tiny detail and bit of trivia that they can get their hands on. One of the questions that resurfaced recently was to identify the set that has had the highest number of the same parts — parts that are repeated not just in element design, but also in color. We found this thread on Facebook (login required) where the question was raised, which led to a Brickset discussion, and thanks to dvdweyer, we have an answer. He’s extracted the Rebrickable database for the most up to date status — at least until the next “biggest LEGO set ever” takes over one of the spots in this list.
We’ve then used the extracted details to form an infographic and added additional statistics to highlight the percentage of elements in comparison to the whole set. Here are the Top 13 sets visualised with the highest part count.

10 new fan projects have qualified for the second 2019 LEGO Ideas Review [News]
More LEGO Ideas sets are coming next year with the announcement today of 10 new fan-created sets being shortlisted. These sets gained the crowd-sourcing platform’s 10,000 supporter requirement between May and early September of 2019. Now comes the part where we all wait in anticipation on which could possibly be the sets that become official LEGO merchandise. While LEGO usually picks one set from each round to turn into a real product, occasionally the company chooses several or none at all. The models are assessed on their viability as sets, including sales projections and as designs that could be translated into a model of usual LEGO quality. We’d like to wish all the successful builders congratulations on this phase and good luck for the next!

These Hollywood stars love their LEGO minifigures [Feature]
For any hardcore fan of LEGO, having yourself immortalised as an official LEGO minifigure can be the highest honour. But you might think that’s not the case if you’re already famous. On some level, it’s nice to think that the stars of Hollywood are bigger than the branding that’s associated with LEGO and its licenses, but it turns out that no matter how famous you are, it’s still a prestige to be acknowledged and embodied as plastic minifigure that will live for eternity (well, almost that long).
Let’s take a look at some Hollywood Stars who loved to pose with minifigures of themselves, whether official figs from sets or custom fan creations.

The Tim Burton Batmobile, building digitally and making it a reality
As a fan of the Tim Burton’s Batman movie and the Batmobile, this midi-scale vehicle picks up all the right details and I have to admit, I always have my doubts when looking at a build done digitally in LEGO that looks great. Who knows if it’s going to all fit together and hold up? I’m glad Kaijuworld took his original digital design and made it into a reality, even making the alternate Batmissile split-mode possible!
This was the original render that caught my attention a few months ago that had me drooling all over for its accuracy at this scale.

Wealthiest Disney character of all time
Despite his namesake, Scrooge McDuck is a cool and adventurous dude and one of my favorites from the 80s Duck Tales Adventures. It’s nice to see him come alive and reproduced beautifully in brick form. This build not only features the wealthy duck, but is also rich in Nice Parts Usages (NPUs). You’ve got to love how Koen Zwanenburg used the magnifying glasses for the pince-nez, and the bucket handles for his belt buckle. Most appropriately perhaps, parts of the treasure chest are made of gold ingot elements.
