LEGO planes, trains, and automobiles! Well, maybe not trains, since they don’t like to play with the other LEGO themes, but here you’ll find all our favorite cars, buses, boats, ships, helicopters, and anything else with an engine (and some without).

What flavor would you like your ride?

It’s a question I’ve never had to ask myself until I saw these models by Alex Jones (“Orion Pax”)

MDI.12 “Huski” exploration vehicle

The MDI.12 “Huski” by m_o_n_k_e_y has forced me to take a brief break from my current obsession with historical and near-future spacecraft rendered in LEGO. The Huski appears to have independent suspension on its balloon tires, an airlock/hatch, and some sort of cannon (which I’ll assume tracks and shoots errant meteors and not aliens, since this is an exploration vehicle).

I’m also currently obsessed with excellent presentation, and something as simple as combining multiple pictures from multiple angles can make a LEGO model pop.

Ralph’s B-52H Stratofortress is one gorgeous, Big Ugly Fat Fellow

Ralph Savelsberg (Mad physicist) takes his military aircraft in a massive direction with this gargantuan B-52 bomber. Ralph writes, “At 170 studs in length and with a span of approximately 196 studs this is the largest single model I have ever built.”

I’m headed back over to his photoset to finish looking at the pictures…

Maserati Tipo 151/3 looks fast standing still!

Tim Inman (Rabidnovaracer) gives us this snazzy Maserati Tipo 151/3, built for the LUGNUTS “Order By Number” Challenge. Some notable points of interest, minifig ski poles for the windshield pillars and Wolverines claws for the Maserati logo.

LEGO The Motion Picture Vehicle Design Contest

Warner Bros. is making the first Lego feature film due for 2014, and Lego has announced a contest to have your creation featured in the movie. Check out this video announcement and visit the contest website for how to enter.

AWOL

Willys Jeeps portrayed in the brick are certainly nothing new. This one by Project Azazel is a nice example, but more so the presentation just made me laugh!

More Awesome Lego Vehicles from The Dark Knight Rises by Tiler

Flickr user Tiler has recently been working through creating various vehicles from The Dark Knight Rises in Lego form. We featured his Tumbler models not long ago, but he’s been hard at work since then adding to the roster. Although we’ve seen many fantastic versions of Batman’s vehicles over the years, but what grabbed me about Tiler’s creations is that they’re in a much smaller scale than most of what we see, without lacking in detail. His latest vehicle is Bane’s truck, which is an awesome monstrosity, and Tiler has perfectly captured the extreme industrial-military look of it. Be sure to also check out his Batbike (below) and terrific Bat.

Numereji Science Laboratory “Horizon” sends first images from Earth-like planet

I’ve found the Mars Curiosity Rover landing incredibly inspiring, and decided to build a rover of my own to explore the distant planet we made up for the Numereji 2421 display at BrickCon 2012.

Numereji Science Laboratory "Horizon" (1)

Here’s the first photo returned by Horizon from the surface of Numereji in 2382 — a low-resolution “haz-cam” photo of a nearby feature with interesting, layered characteristics potentially indicative of sedimentary processes (and thus the presence of liquid water). This photo represents the first indication that Numereji might be able to sustain human life.

After traveling at a substantial fraction of the speed of light for several decades, the rover lands safely, but the 14-minute delay for Mars-Earth communication (depending on their relative location) recently experienced by JPL scientists translate to 14 years of terror, as scientists wait to receive data from Numereji 14 light years away.

Motorized Tumbler and The Bat

The latest creations by the power functions mastermind Peer Kreuger (mahjqa) hail from The Dark Knight Rises.

The Hob

Alex Jones (Orion Pax) is ready to cruise with Snoop and the boyz in his new lowrider, “The Hob”. He will be bouncin’ down the road, with fully functional hydraulics, working lights, RC, plenty of chrome, and even an MP3 player complete with speaker.

When I was in high school I thought it would be fantastic to have a lowrider…I hadn’t thought about it for years, but this makes me want a real one again! Would a 2004 VW Golf look odd as a lowrider???

Here is a video of it in action:

Little Big Rig

Matija recently posted the results of when truck geniuses hang out. Well not only does that result in some pretty cool photos, but it also results in some pretty cool inspiration. Evan B ([Lego Junkie]) just so happens to be one of those that felt inspired, because he has posted a rather amazing minifig scale Peterbilt 379, complete with lowbed trailer and Caterpillar D10r Bulldozer.

The attention to detail is definitely some top notch stuff. Be sure to check out the rest of the pictures in Evan’s photostream!!!

Skull Fighter

Well this has to be one of the most unique things that I have seen in a long time! But really can we expect anything less from Bartosz Kacprzyk (oneman)???

Skull Fighter

That skull is so whimsical, and combined with the checker pattern on the fuselage…just absolutely lovely!!! I can totally picture this buzzing around the screen of a Tim Burton film!
