Marvel made its LEGO debut in 2002 with the Spider-Man sub-theme of LEGO Studio. Since then we’ve seen LEGO sets based on most films from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, X-Men, as well as a steady stream of Spider-Man sets for builders of all ages. Large-scale sets like Avengers Tower, The X-Mansion, and The Daily Bugle have proven incredibly popular with collectors and builders alike.

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 video game released [News]

Warner Bros Games and LEGO have united once more to create an all-new, epic adventure and sequel to the smash hit, LEGO Marvel Super Heroes with their new game, LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2. The game follows an original branching storyline, co-written by comic book veteran Kurt Busiek, that follows on directly where LEGO Marvel Super Heroes left off. Players are transported into 18 different Marvel locations that have been “ripped from time and space into the incredible open hub world of Chronopolis”.

Mini Hulkbuster punches above its weight

At first glance this wee Hulkbuster looks enormous, then you realise that Iron Man’s head is that of the Minifigure and Tony Stark’s infamous arc reactor is a single tiny element. The Ka. Lor Project has created the Hulkbuster, Crimson for your viewing pleasure. As the name suggests, the Hulkbuster was specifically designed for hand-to-hand combat with the rampaging Hulk. During its maiden run, the armour enabled Stark to temporarily hold his own in sustained physical combat with the Hulk. This mighty miniature has so many fine details and tons of tiny greebling, I love everything about this heavy Hulk harrassing hybrid.

Iron Man and War Machine are looking a bit blocky

Builder nobu_tary delves deeply into the blocky nature of LEGO bricks with this pair of Stark hardsuits. This building style is very distinctive and I love the exaggerated effect. There’s a ton of small details to look for such as the shades of old grey vs new grey pieces in War Machine, the use of an official Iron Man print, and a very clever slit technique for the “eyes”. All topped off with that signature mecha pose; let’s puff out those chests, boys!

3,000 piece custom minifigure-scale Guardians of the Galaxy Milano

Many of you have probably seen the official LEGO Milano 76081 from the new Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2, or maybe even read our review of the microscale Milano which LEGO is currently giving away. Tyler Clites liked the ship so much, he made his own custom 3000 piece minifig-scale version with full interior! At 2 feet wide and a foot long, Tyler has recreated the unique shapes and curves of the craft with some very clever building techniques; the “beak” of the ship looks fantastic, and he has captured the swept back wings and feathered ailerons with style.

Guardians from a long time ago, in a galaxy far far away

When I first laid eyes on this, my brain refused to comprehend the crossover theme! Builder BrickinNick certainly accomplished his mission to put me in a daze. At first glance, I could see Chewbacca and Han Solo, but then something told me it was also Groot and his buddy Rocket Racoon. So is it a Groobacca and a Han Raccoon duo or a Chroot and a Rocket Solo team? You take your pick! I’m still bewildered and amazed.

Summer 2017 Thor: Ragnarok LEGO sets revealed [News]

We’re getting our first high-quality look at two LEGO sets from Marvel’s Thor: Ragnarok. We don’t yet have information regarding price, part counts, or exact release dates of these sets, but we’ll be sure to bring you that info as soon as it’s available.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 LEGO sets revealed [News]

Retail giant Amazon has published images of the new LEGO sets for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2, which hits theaters May 5. As with previous films in the Marvel cinematic universe, LEGO will release a small wave of sets prior to the film’s opening, and in this case the sets are slated for release April 25. We don’t have word yet on the US prices, but expect them to run just slightly less than the Pound and Euro prices.

Here’s the first official look at a few of next year’s Marvel Superheroes sets. We got an early look at the Hulk vs. Red Hulk set in July, but now you can also check out new Iron Man and Captain America sets. The Iron Man set includes Phil Coulson and his darling car, Lola.

Oh, you have a Hulk? That’s nice

As part of Creations for Charity 2016, builder Tim Lydy has created a rather worn out LEGO rendition of Thor’s brother Loki. This version of the character is sporting the much brighter attire of the character’s original comic book design and it looks great in brick form.

Loki’s extremely relaxed posture is thanks to him actually being constructed in several smaller sections that aren’t attached to each other, but to the chair instead. The other big trick here is the rug which I definitely thought was not LEGO, but apparently is. Tim states that it’s an official piece from Duplo set 5598 Dino Valley.

LEGO to unveil new line, LEGO BrickHeadz, at San Diego ComicCon [News]

LEGO has provided us details for a new product line called LEGO BrickHeadz, coming in 2017, which allows builders to “create, collect and display versions of iconic characters and superheros out of classic LEGO bricks and elements.”

The first versions will be unveiled at San Diego ComicCon (SDCC) next week, where fans can get a sneak peak at this upcoming line.

First look at LEGO’s new Hulk vs. Red Hulk set [News]

LEGO has revealed yet another new Superheroes set, this time featuring several brand new additions to the LEGO Superheroes lineup: Red Hulk, She-hulk, and Red She-Hulk, as well as a new version of the Incredible Hulk. It also includes vehicles for each faction. The set will have 375 pieces, and is due out in January. It will retail for $59.99 USD. Last week LEGO revealed the new lineup of Marvel Mighty Micros sets.
