Bugatti blast from the past

Ye olde barn find has struck gold again! LEGO builder 1corn has discovered an automobile that today would be almost 100 years old: the Bugatti Type 41 Packard Prototype.

Originally built in 1926, this vehicle was a combination of a Bugatti chassis Packard bodywork (with a Bugatti aircraft engine), nearly unheard of for its time. 1corn manages to pull off a close replica with his build here. From the whitewall tires to the curve of the fenders, this car has it all. I can’t help but admire the dark red color scheme. It works so well with the black fenders and tan seating.

Some cars are just super, but some are totally hyper!

When getting from point A to point B in a regular car just doesn’t cut it, then you need a supercar. But when a supercar doesn’t make your discerning heart go pitter-patter anymore then a LEGO builder who goes by the name of 3D supercarBricks has the solution for you. It’s a pretty super Bugatti Chiron GT in striking yellow and black. Categorized as a Hypercar, this Chiron is what happens when a supercar rises to the top 1%. With 1500 horsepower, and topping out at 261mph, the real-life Bugatti Chiron GT is a technological marvel. While much slower, this LEGO version also isn’t without its charms. A brief perusal through this builder’s Flick photostream proves 3D supercarBricks lives up to their name, which is a good thing because photos of LEGO cats or houses would have been totally weird.

The Bugatti Centodieci is a nod to its own legacy

Do you like the LEGO automotive work of Firas Abu-Jaber? Do you enjoy everything Bugatti has to offer? Do you have $8.9 million burning a hole in your pocket? Well, two out of three isn’t bad. Only ten of youse with deep pockets would have already placed your order for the 2020 Bugatti Centodieci, the rest of us average schlubs will just have to settle for drooling over Firas’ stunning LEGO rendition. I’m particularly fond of the turntable plates that comprises sort of a “cheese grater” vent at the B-pillar, which is an obvious nod to the Bugatti EB110SS supercar of the 90’s but the larger iconic horseshoe grille is reminiscent of the more modern Veyron and Chiron. Complex and subtle curves is what gives all of Firas’s work his signature style.

2020 Bugatti Centodieci

The 2020 Centodieci is so new and so rare that Firas had to guess how the doors and engine lid opened as there are no photographs online yet showing how it all works. He made an educated guess that it would go something like this.

No matter how the doors open in real life, the 2020 Bugatti Centodieci is a nod to its own legacy and is one of many, many reasons our hearts go pitter-patter whenever we see Firas’ work.

Ride about in this regal Royale

2018 has been a big year for the LEGO Technic Bugatti Chiron. While the Chiron represents modern elegance, the Bugatti name has been associated with opulent luxury since 1909. One of the most coveted Bugatti automobiles is the Type 41 Royale, with only seven examples having been built between 1927 and 1933. ER0L has taken the Royale, shrinking it down into an adorable LEGO model. Erol has successfully captured the incredible length of the real vehicle, along with the iconic two-tone Bugatti color scheme. This particular version is the Coupe Deville with coachwork by Binder. During World War II, it was hidden in the sewers of Paris to escape confiscation by Nazi Germany.

Brilliant, beautiful, Brickatti.

Building a LEGO Bugatti in minifigure scale is a task that could baffle a novice builder. Luckily, Jussi Koskinen is no beginner, as he has managed to artfully capture the delicate curves and lines of the Bugatti Chiron Sport. And not only are those curves artfully captured, they are represented with innovative parts usages as well — for example, the sausages used on the fenders, and red flex tube to accomplish the sweeping lines on the side of the car.

The Bugatti looks just as alluring when viewed from the back as well, where red rubber bands are wrapped around the rear lights, both to provide the lights with a solid color outline and fill in gaps that would otherwise be visible. Couple this excellent build with some beautiful photography and subtle effects, and you’ve got a photo that appears to be right out of Car and Driver magazine.

LEGO built a life-size Technic Bugatti Chiron that actually drives [News]

LEGO has revealed a life-size Bugatti Chiron built from more than a million Technic elements that actually drives. Powered by more than 2,300 Power Functions motors, the car is the first ever fully-functional self-propelled LEGO sports car, reaching top speeds nearing 20 mph (30 kph).

More impressive, LEGO designers didn’t use any glue in the construction which took more than 13,000 hours total. The life-size Technic Bugatti Chiron even includes a working speedometer and rear spoiler while replicating the sleek curves of the iconic sports car.

A bit bigger than the 42083 Technic Bugatti Chiron we reviewed earlier this summer, the life-sized model can fit two passengers inside and weighs a whopping 3,300 pounds (1,500 kg), supported by a steel frame.

I’m a fan of brick engineer Gerald Cacas, especially when he uses his magic sci-fi shrink ray gun. This time the target of his genius skills is none other than the latest Technic Bugatti Chiron. Shrinking it down to a 7-stud configuration while keeping all the details intact is what we all need to complete as a companion to the Speed Champions series.

3600-piece LEGO Technic 42083 Bugatti Chiron unveiled [News]

Today in Billund at LEGO headquarters, LEGO and Bugatti have officially announced the brand new LEGO Technic 42083 Bugatti Chiron, the second set in the LEGO Technic Ultimate Series of supercars following last year’s Porsche 911 GT3 RS release. The big reveal today was held at the LEGO House in Billund, Denmark by the CEO of the LEGO Group, Neils B. Christiansen, together with the President of Bugatti, Stephan Winkelmann.

Build your own vintage Bugatti from LEGO [Instructions]

A while back we featured this delightful vintage Bugatti discovered in a dilapidated roadside barn. It looks like its new owners have gotten the old gal up and running. Creator Norton74 has built another scene, this time featuring the Bugatti at a filling station.

Bugatti Chiron revealed as Technic supercar for 2018 [News]

LEGO has just released a teaser video revealing that the second set in the LEGO Technic Ultimate Series will be the Bugatti Chiron. The model follows in the tracks of 42056 Porsche 911 GT3 RS, and will be 1:8 scale with 3,599 parts. The Technic Bugatti Chiron will be released on August 1st.

A teaser image was also revealed simply showing four Bugatti Chiron LEGO wheels and a handful of Technic parts – including a Bugatti branded steering wheel.

The video teases a suitably blurred, semi-constructed LEGO set that should get those supercar Technic fans into an anticipatory frenzy.
