DC Comics’ legendary Dark Knight has a solid place in the world of LEGO, with official LEGO Batman sets released in 2006-2008 and again starting in 2012 (As part of the LEGO Super Heroes DC Universe line). Along the way, there have also been two LEGO Batman video games. But all the official products pale in comparison to the wonderful fan-built Batmobiles, Batwings, and variations on the Batcave. See all of them right here on The Brothers Brick.

The LEGO Batman Movie Batman in the Phantom Zone & The Joker Training Battle [Review]

As we approach The LEGO Batman Movie‘s February release, LEGO is launching scores of sets to accompany its first feature film of the year and we’ve been covering them as quickly as we can. Today we’re bringing you two more mini sets, 30522 Batman in the Phantom Zone, and 30523 The Joker Training Battle. Both are minifigure scale, unlike the microscale sets we covered recently of The Mini Batmobile and Batwing. Both are expected to retail for $4.99 USD.

TBB Weekly Brick Report: LEGO news roundup for December 24, 2016 [News]

The Brothers Brick comes across so much LEGO-related news each week that we’ve decided to package up all the interesting stories we’ve written and the content that’s grabbed our attention into a Weekly Brick Report for your reading enjoyment. Some weeks there will be lots of links to share; other weeks there will be hardly any stories out there–that’s the fickle nature of the news. But these are some headlines worth sharing.

So without further adieu, here’s this week’s Brick Report:

Santa Claus is tumbling to town

When the Christmas presents absolutely positively definitely need to get there on time, you need Chak hei Mok‘s Festive LEGO Tumbler. No blizzard or broken bridge, or Joker ambush or GCPD roadblock is going to stop Batman delivering the Yuletide cheer. However, I doubt DC’s greatest hero is going to be hugely impressed with whichever kid asked for a Captain America shield…

The LEGO Batman Movie Collectible Minifigures Feel Guide [Review]

A few days ago, we brought you our hands-on review of The LEGO Batman Movie 71017 Collectible Minifigures. These 20 unique figures are due to release Jan. 1 for $3.99 each, but a few lucky fans are already starting to find them on store shelves. Like other Collectible Minifigures, the Batman Movie minifigs are packed in sealed bags so you don’t know which characters you’re buying — unless, that is, you use your dexterous digits to determine the contents by feel.

And that’s exactly what we’ve been doing. We’ve stayed up late working our fingers numb sorting a whole case of blind packs, so our Feel Guide is based on actual experience finding and verifying figures. Not every piece is easy to determine by feel alone, and some pieces are easily confused with others, so use this guide to help you find a complete set of 20 figures, or to get extras of your favorite character.

The LEGO Batman Movie 71017 Collectible Minifigures are available now on Amazon and  on the LEGO Shop Online.

The LEGO Batman Movie Collectible Minifigures 71017 [Review]

The LEGO Batman Movie, due out Feb. 10, is making waves in the DC universe as it dusts off villains old and new, and gives the Batman himself a plethora of new costumes. And there’s no better way to get your hands on a whole load of those new characters in minifigure form than with The LEGO Batman Movie 71017 Collectible Minifigures. The 20 unique figures will hit store shelves Jan. 1 for $3.99 each.

[Update] The LEGO Batman Movie 71017 Collectible Minifigures are available now on the LEGO Shop Online.

LEGO sent us a case ahead of time, and you can read our full hands-on review below, or read through our Feel Guide for The LEGO Batman Movie Collectible Minifigures to help you collect a whole set.

LEGO Batman Movie 70907 Killer Croc Tail-Gator [Review]

Why does all the crazy news seem to be from Florida?

That’s a line I never imaged using in opening a review of LEGO set, but look closely at the bumpers on The LEGO Batman Movie‘s 70907 Killer Croc Tail-Gator, and you’ll spy Florida plates on this backwoods monster truck due out January 1, ahead of the film’s February 10 release date. The set has 460 pieces, and will retail for $69.99. Ready to take a trip to swampy roads of the everglades? Let’s dive in.

LEGO Batman Movie 70911 The Penguin Arctic Roller [Review]

We don’t yet know how good The LEGO Batman Movie will be when it hits theaters Feb. 10, 2017, but if we can judge by the sets and trailers, it will definitely be a memorable take on the dark knight and his many nemeses. The sets based on the film are awash in villains both famous and obscure, including most of the mainstays of Gotham lore. The Penguin is one such iconic villain who hasn’t seen much screen time in recent years; in fact, the Penguin hasn’t made a big-screen appearance since 1992’s Batman Returns. Ever the dapper madman however, the Gentleman of Crime is back in The LEGO Batman Movie with a posh cruiser befitting his illicit opulence.

70911 The Penguin Arctic Roller contains 305 pieces and 2 minifigures. It will be available Jan. 1, 2017. We don’t yet have word on the price, but expect around $30 USD.
