Daniel Z takes his castle evolution project and turns it into a full-scale action-blown battle scene for the Battles Contest on Classic Castle. With that I think there’s no need to fight now, the battle is over!

Chapel Rock
This scene by Luke Watkins is packed with an incredible amount of detail. You really need to check out all the pictures. Very nice, indeed.
I can hear the Rumble
I want one of these! This steampunk halftrack by Massie96 is freakin’ cool. Makes me want to try building Steampunk again…
ALA-N the Retro Mech goes exploring
Brent Waller‘s fabulous retro-mech made me write this post. But I really like the vintage spacesuit feel of this creation, so its okay.

New LEGO Space Police, Castle, Power Miners, Agents 2.0 now available [News]
The mid-2009 LEGO sets are now available from The Official LEGO Shop online, including the brand-new LEGO Space Police theme — a theme that has the fingerprints of Mark Stafford and Adam Grabowski all over it.
Two of the smaller sets make it easy to get a couple of the unique new aliens from this theme.
The VTOL police vehicle below includes an alien with four arms.
LEGO Castle fans are sure to shout for delight at the availability of the newest sets, including this massive fortress full of goblin and troll minifigs, along with a couple smaller sets.
The newest LEGO Power Miners sets feature a massive drill (8964 Titanium Command Rig) and the new, larger rock monsters.
LEGO Agents gets a reboot in LEGO Agents 2.0. With the cool minifigs that I love this theme for, the line includes a hilariously awesome mecha.
Finally, five new LEGO City sets are also available, including 7641 City Corner with its six-wide city bus.
Here’s a partial list of new sets that are available:

6299 LEGO Pirates Advent Calender photo and details [News]
It has been leaked before, but kin.leg◎ recently discovered a good, official picture of the new Pirates Advent Calender. It shivers me timbers, yarr!
Looks like we will be getting 8 figs, a monkey, and a sawfish. The grey sawfish hasn’t been in production since 1997, although a black one was briefly available in 2002. Here’s hoping it will be sold worldwide!
EDIT (AB): According to the page on Amazon.co.jp, the set will retail for 5,775 yen, so my guess is that it’ll be a $30 set. Like 10199 LEGO Creator Christmas, it’s scheduled to ship from Amazon Japan on October 25, 2009.
He’s got legs!
74louloute is quite the poser, at least with this figure. The combination of unusual joint connections enables this knight, dubbed Sir Hruodland, to strike a rather heroic pose.
I think he’s coming after us, don’t you?
BrickWorld registration reaching capacity, LEGO execs to attend
With only 4 days left to register for BrickWorld, a record setting number of more than 440 registrants is bringing registration to its capacity at 480. If you’re still sitting on the fence, what are you waiting for?
A comprehensive schedule of all four days’ events has just been posted, with LEGO’s CEO Jørgen Vig Knudstorp to speak at the opening ceremony with Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen in attendance as well. In addition, an unprecedented variety of exciting presentations has been arranged ranging from designing LEGO products to collecting rare elements to screenings of a LEGO documentary and much more.
LEGO Terminator mecha by Nickre
Though I won’t see it until tomorrow night myself, the new Terminator: Salvation movie looks full of cool mecha, hoverships, and post-apocalyptic landscapes sure to serve as inspiration among LEGO builders.
Nick (Nickre) uses his own imagination, though, to come up with this cool mecha from the Terminator universe:
That buzz saw slung under the body looks lethal…
I don’t know about you guys, but I’m tired of being pushed around. Aren’t you?

10199 LEGO Creator Christmas set revealed on Amazon Japan [News]
Amazon.co.jp has revealed details about the upcoming 10199 LEGO Creator Christmas set, due out later this year. The picture isn’t perfect, but good enough for discussion, I think.
Due to ship in Japan on October 25, 2009, the set will apparently retail for 12,600 yen. Comparing the prices of other LEGO sets between yen and USD, my guess is that this will be a $60 set (assuming it’s available, but we LEGO fans can always make that happen).
Thanks to EDGE over at LEGO-KEI for the tip!
