Inspired by his favorite song from the hugely popular Disney movie Frozen, Ian Spacek recreated this moment from the scene in which Anna sings the movie’s “I want” song – For the First Time in Forever.

Once again the Mixel eyes are working their magic, as you can see from these nifty versions of comic strip characters Garfield and Odie, built by LegoJalex. Garfield is accurately portrayed with his trademark lasagne (for breakfast!) and irritating canine alarm clock.
Garfield’s popularity undoubtedly lies in his unique wit. In fact, Wikipedia describes him as pessimistic, sadistic, cynical, sarcastic, sardonic, negative, obnoxious, snide, lazy and fat. My God, he’s basically my perfect role model!
Last night the people of Scotland voted against breaking away from the United Kingdom, thereby ensuring an uninterrupted flow of Mars bars in one direction, and Doctor Who actors in the other. And proving that I certainly have no monopoly on capturing current events in LEGO, James Pegrum built this scene to mark the occasion:

Lugnuts, the online club for LEGO car enthusiasts, is currently running its 83rd build challenge, called Only in America. It’s all about cars from the USA. I decided I was going to build a typical American muscle car as my entry: a Chevrolet Camaro.
Some of you may think that there is nothing particularly special about it. It looks pretty much like all of the other cars I build: it has studs on top, brick-built windows that are pretty much opaque and, while some bits of it are built sideways, the construction does not look particularly complicated. I suppose that superficially it’s a bit old-school really.
If you are a fan of Transformers you may have realised that it is in fact the Transformer Bumblebee, from one of the Michael Bay live-action films, in car mode. It serves as the latest addition to my ever-growing collection of vehicles from films and TV series. However, you may not realise that there is more to it than meets the eye.

This beautiful scene from the classic pirate tale, Treasure Island, is exactly how I imagined it years ago when I first read it. Vitreolum has done an incredible job here. From the stockade fence to the variegated log walls, from the posing of the figures to the lush tropical foilage, everything is just about perfect.
This mini fleet has sailed under orders from Thomas of Tortuga. I love how such a small number of parts evokes the mass and bulk of fleet. Plus the nearly chibi aspect makes them simply adorable.
Djordje (Djokson) used parts from Hero Factory to create this alien who’s full of expression. You can just see it in his eyes!
Tim Schwalf brings us the Hurricane Battlecruiser, a 155 stud behemoth made of equal parts smooth paneling and fantastic greebling. The smaller fighters and overall presentation kick the whole thing up to 11.

We recently received a copy of LEGO’s exclusive addition to their Superhero line, The Tumbler. Official piece count is listed as 1869 elements. The actual model measures nearly 16 inches long, over 9 inches wide, over 5 inches high and weighs in at just over 4 and half pounds. The thing is huge! It currently retails at 199.99 USD.
Pros:
– It is very accurate to the original vehicle. The details, inside and out, are very good. The cockpit area is full of minute detail and the stickers really make the control panels come alive. The used of wedge plates, tiles, hinges, bar connections and ball joints work really well together to create the unique shape which is crucial to the Tumbler.
– There are lots of good parts and a fair number of fairly unique pieces. The huge rear wheels are cool and the two front wheels are currently only available in this set, I believe.
– The build is challenging and the there are some unusual techniques that were used to achieve the proper angles.
– It is a very good-looking model…quite an eye-catcher actually.
This set of mecha triplets by Izzo Yossi features a set of corresponding equipment including an aerial suit, a quadruped walker and a tank. They all look capable of dishing out a serious beating, but which one is your favorite?
A strange alien species deserves a suitably strange and alien-looking space craft. So this star fighter by Tyler Sky is the logical runabout for those mysterious and unfathomable creatures, the LEGO Friends. And it goes great with Tyler’s Friends roadster!
