Alex Schranz (Orion Pax) has captured the moment when a rather scary beastie emerges from a train tunnel. I’m not sure what this little scene means, but I think it’s pretty cool.

We know Stephen Chao (obscurance) best for his great mecha, but Stephen is no less talented in other LEGO themes. This LEGO Castle creation is full of interesting angles and cool details. I’m particularly fond of the tavern’s roof.
Mark Neumann (SnowLeopard) displayed his first large-scale mecha in quite some time at BrickFest 2009 last month, and boy is it a doozy.

Moko‘s latest mecha combines two things that we all know are awesome: ninjas and robots. Black and silver with gold accents, the ninja mecha can seat a minifig — a masked mystery man whose identity remains unknown.
Frank — “Fire, Rescue Android, Revision NK” — joins two of Brent Waller‘s previous job-bots to put out fires, rescue kittens, pose for calendars, and cook chili (I presume).
Like MA-X and Earl, Frank is fully articulated at the head, shoulders, elbows, hands, fingers, waist, legs, knees and feet.

LEGO Certified Professional Sean Kenney was recently commissioned to create a larger-than-life sculpture of the forthcoming Nintendo DSi — yes, that’s Sean peeking out from behind the DSi:
The big blue DS is nearly 7 feet wide, weighs 250 pounds, and was built from 51,324 LEGO elements.

Well-placed sources in the United States government have recently revealed that LEGO blogger and alleged poet Andrew Becraft is in fact the same person as international super-spy and beloved raconteur Steven Andrew Ogilvy.
Leaked technical specifications reveal that the LEGO minifig, or so-called sigfig, that Becraft carries with him on his travels contains a 3D micro-camera, long-range stereo microphone, 2-terabyte flash drive, and spring-loaded poison darts.
This and other as-yet-undisclosed technology has enabled Becraft — codenamed “Dunechaser” — to surveil high-profile locations such as the UK Houses of Parliament with impunity. An anonymous MI5 agent is quoted as saying, “The unprecedented access Becraft was able to obtain using a few pieces of heavily customized Legos [sic] is astounding.”
Motives behind the exposure of “Steven Andrew Ogilvy” remain as unclear as the value of the intelligence Becraft was able to gather on his “business trips” to Great Britain, the Republic of Ireland, and New Zealand.
Fellow agents interviewed for this article (speaking on condition of anonymity) assert, “Everybody at the CIA already knew that the British Museum has lots of Egyptian statues, and that there’s a bust of James Joyce on St. Stephen’s Green. Oh, can you edit out the part where I mention the CIA?”
Others suspect that Becraft’s promotion of Danish toy maker LEGO’s Agents series may have run afoul of protectionist elements in the American government.
Even though LEGO Star Wars is our most popular category, we really don’t blog enough LEGO creations inspired by the glorious prequel trilogy or animated Clone Wars series. Similarly, I’m not satisfied with the number of LEGO Halo creations our current contributors blog.
