Nannan’s post earlier today about Matt’s bitey yellow schoolbus reminded me of Teikjoon‘s bitey yellow chair.
Behold the “Barkalounger!”
Note how the rider’s legs form the eyes. How cool is that?

The music video for Radiohead’s “House of Cards” from In Rainbows (naturally available from ) just seemed to be begging for the LEGO treatment.
Ian Mackinnon obliges with this strange and gorgeous rendition (with a hat-tip to reader wb):
Ian used the 3D plotting data from the original video to do his time-lapse LEGO interpretation of “House of Cards”. The result is sheer brilliance.
And here’s the original video for “House of Cards”, for comparison:
Previous LEGO + Radiohead on The Brothers Brick:
Matt S. shows what happens at the end of summer, which involves finding oneself on the big bad yellow bus once again. But I don’t remember my school bus having sharp teeth that chomped on children. Oh how times change.
Mechanical anthropologists have long speculated about the afterlife of the Primal Bots captured on film by field researcher Rong Yiren.
Now we have the answer in this photo titled “Damnation!”
Yes, but where do good Primal Bots go when their power sources run out?
Yup, that’s me. My latest distraction is this little beauty from Vdude, with cargo modules in a variety of colors:
For more salient commentary on the finer points of this LEGO creation, you may prefer to reference Yahtzee Spittoon Assignation Blowfish.
As a continuation to his tea house, Nathan has posted a lovely Zen garden.
The beauty of the leaning tree is likely to distract those seeking to clear their minds, while the perfect torii evokes thoughts of Shinto-Buddhist syncretism — but we won’t go there. ;-)
And now for something completely different. A Wells, Fargo & Co. overland express and assay office:
Inspired by Brian Kescenovitz, Jas Nagra has posted a lovely pair of armless mecha in black and gray:
Occasionally I see something that’s amusing and is a good diversion to put on the blog. Here is a Jenday Conure named Autumn belonging to Jordan Schwartz (Sir Nadroj). In the picture she puts out a fabulous Captain Morgan pose, much better than the performance by these goons at Brickworld :)
UPDATE: 10189 Taj Mahal is now available for pre-order in the United States as well! It’s $299.99 and will ship by September 15, 2008.
Brickshelf user whung has a picture showing an upcoming set, the 10189 Taj Mahal. As of now I have no further information regarding this set, but from the box it looks like a general release product, and at almost 6000 pieces, it would be the largest LEGO set to date and would rival the price of the UCS Millenium Falcon set.
Brickshelf user LOVEJOINT has a score of interesting Bionicle creations in his gallery. Check out this goliath made from mishmashed Bionicle armor and parts. The style is much reminiscent of the Transformers from the movie, and if all parts had been in black, I would hail this builder as a LEGO Giger.
James Wadsworth, host of LAML Radio, has audaciously reached the most mysterious builder on the internet – Nnenn. As a highly prolific space artist, Nnenn has astounded LEGO fans with his polished and stylized spacecrafts. As a person he remained nameless and faceless online. Now LAML Radio has a detailed and comprehensive podcast interview with Nnenn, enjoy!
Furthermore, throughout the month of August, James will attempt to interview one builder each day! Check back often at LAML Radio; you’ll never know who’s next.
