If you prefer your pictures moving — whether it’s a funny story told with stop-motion animation, video review of a new LEGO set, or showcase for a custom LEGO model’s working features — we have your LEGO videos right here.
The style of Dutch painter Piet Mondrian lends itself well to being reproduced in LEGO, but the mesmerizing new video by Cheesy Bricks takes this to another level.

We know you all just *loved* the Zeus vs Thor brick film we recently featured, by the potty-mouthed YouTubers Epic Rap Battles of History. Well, like a bad penny, they’re back! This time providing a rap segment for this irreverent (PG rated) take on the The LEGO Movie by Honest Trailers.

For its Season 4 bout between the Greek god Zeus and the Norse god Thor, the hugely popular YouTube channel Epic Rap Battles of History turned to Forrest Whaley and his team of stop-motion animators to give it the LEGO treatment. And the result is hilarious! Make sure to check out the entertaining behind the scenes video too.

This Rube Goldberg machine by Christian Bechinie showcases an elegantly designed ball contraption surrounded by brick-built dominoes. Check out the entertaining video and see it all in motion.

It isn’t often that we see such excellent video of a collaborative train layout and it certainly helps that there are some really lovely trains in there too. Hats off to Michael Gale for a job well done!
The video is on Flickr as well, if you prefer that or want to leave a comment there.
Edit (JW): This is not actually a collaborative layout. Michael built the whole thing. Most impressive!

There’s been an argument circulating recently on the web that Gandalf’s original plan to get the One Ring into Mordor was via Air Eagle. It’s an interesting textual analysis, though unsupported by Tolkien’s copious notes and background information. The latest hilarious video by Brotherhood Workshop illustrates the counter-argument.

We’ve seen some great smack-talk between competitors in past Iron Builder contests, but the ‘Haulics have really taken it up a notch – no, no, I’d say they’ve probably notched it up a scootch – against the Mayo‘s with this hilarious video featuring a brick built NERF SOAKER…
I thought they couldn’t top their earlier video of a working LEGO chainsaw but I guess I was wrong. This contest has already produced an insane number of one-upping builds, and I can’t wait to see how it plays out!

If you lived through the 1980’s, this tune from Wacko-Jacko is no doubt indelibly burned in your mind. The mosaic-style video treatment of Thriller by Anette Jung is both unique and mesmerizing, even if it only covers the John Landis directed opening and not the entire song.

If your creative well has run dry, TBB is here to help with a couple of projects to fill the hours before the factory whistle blows on Monday…or Tuesday if you live here in the States.
First up is the deceptively challenging How to build a K.E.W.B. by Jacob Unterreiner (4estFeller). The video is easy to follow, doesn’t require a Zhangian collection to build and it even has cool music that will make you feel like you’re in a hip clothing store. The only drawback is that Jacob doesn’t show you how to make his elegant stand to display your K.E.W.B., but we’ll let it slide.
For the advanced builder with LDD experience and a penchant for Sci-Fi, Chief Executive Overlord, Tanuki Corp. and wezra have you covered with a free instructional download of Red Spacecat’s USS Saratoga. I can assure you, constant reader, that the instructions are far easier to follow than my description.
To those of you who take the plunge, good luck! I have no doubt that the builders featured here would be happy to answer questions from you via Flickr if you get stuck. If you have your own D.I.Y. project to share with the readers, leave them in the comments.

This video reminds me of a T.V. commercial from a big pharmaceutical company hawking its latest antidepressant medication. Maybe that’s fitting, considering how many fans build to relieve stress and in some cases to help fight depression. I’m not sure which cure is cheaper, but I know which one has fewer side effects. According to the builder, Denmark’s Anne Mette Vestergård (Anne Mette V), “Sometimes the everyday life seems to be sad and grey like in this town. But not for the AFOLs who lives there. Making LEGO Creations is his bright spot in his everyday life.. The build is not photographed in black and white, nor is it digitally manipulated but rather built with gray-scale parts, much like a portion of the recent Wizard of Oz diorama featured on this blog of blogs.
The music is a perfect match for the video, although it does make me want a Friday night martini, which shouldn’t be too hard to find in Vegas. Welcome to the weekend.
