LEGO BrickHeadz Harry Potter 40496: Voldemort, Nagini and Bellatrix [Review]

If you are a fan of the Harry Potter franchise and a collector of BrickHeadz, you might be scratching your head at the one-sided line-up released so far, which includes the three heroes of the story, along with Dumbledore, Hagrid, Buckbeak, and Newt, but only one villain so far, Gellert Grindelwald. Well, that is about to change. With the upcoming release of a brand new batch of bad guys and girls. That’s right, the most feared villain in history, He Who Must Not Be Named himself, Lord Voldemort, is finally joining the ranks of BrickHeadz along with his snake Nagini and Bellatrix Lestrange. LEGO BrickHeadz Harry Potter 40496 Voldemort, Nagini, and Bellatrix includes 344 pieces and will be available starting June 1, 2021. LEGO has not released a price or parts count at the time of this review, but based on previous multi-character sets, I’m guessing it will be around $24.99 US.

LEGO Collectible Minifigures 71030 Looney Tunes Feel Guide [Review]

LEGO is going looney as the latest license to get a Collectible Minifigure series is Looney Tunes, bringing 12 classic cartoon characters to minifigure form for the very first time. LEGO Collectible Minifigures 71030 Looney Tunes blind packs will be officially available April 26, though like usual they’ve been starting to pop up in retail stores for a little while already. LEGO Collectible Minifigures 71030 Looney Tunes are available starting April 26 for US $4.99 | CAN $4.99 | UK £3.49. They may also be available from third-party sellers on Amazon and eBay. In the US and Canada you can also buy a pack of six, though it doesn’t appear that LEGO guarantees each character will be unique: US $29.94 | CAN $29.99.

LEGO Star Wars 40451 Tatooine Homestead: GWP for 2021 May the Fourth weekend [Review]

May the Fourth, the annual Star Wars Day, is almost here, and as usual LEGO is releasing some special goodies to celebrate. This year brings another freebie Gift with Purchase (GWP) set in the line of Star Wars microscale dioramas that LEGO’s been exploring since 2019. 40451 Tatooine Homestead lets you finally recreate Uncle Owen haggling over droids with the Jawa junk dealers outside the Lars family underground home. Maybe you can even get those units in the south range repaired by midday. The set includes 218 pieces and will be available from LEGO.com and in LEGO stores May 1 through May 5, free with a minimum purchase of US $85 | CAN $85 | UK £85 of LEGO Star Wars products.

Holy Headgear, Batman! – LEGO DC 76182 Batman Cowl [Review]

The Minions have arrived! LEGO Minions: The Rise of Gru 75546, 75547, and 75550 [Review]

Banana! In preparation for the much-delayed cinematic release of Minions: The Rise of Gru later this year, The Brothers Brick was given a sneak peek at three LEGO Minions sets, so today we’re taking a quick look at 75546 Minions in Gru’s Lab (87 pieces | US $19.99 | CAN $24.99 | UK £17.99), 75547 Minion Pilot in Training (119 pieces | US $29.99 | CAN $39.99 | UK £29.99), and 75550 Minions Kung Fu Battle (310 pieces | US $39.99 | CAN $49.99 | UK £34.99). These sets were revealed by LEGO more than a year ago and are now finally making their way to store shelves. All three sets will be available beginning April 26.

LEGO 71030 Looney Tunes Collectible Minifigures [Review]

In its unstoppable quest to bring every piece of your childhood memories under its umbrella, LEGO has added another venerable IP to its stable with the 71030 Looney Tunes Collectible Minifigures. Although LEGO has collaborated with Warner Brothers many times previously (The LEGO Movie was a WB production, after all, to say nothing of DC) Warner Brothers’ famous cartoon characters had not yet graced the LEGO aisle of your local toy store. The new series of 12 unique figures targets some of the best-known characters from the animated shorts with Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Roadrunner, and others. And although the series is not explicitly marketed as such (there’s no reference on the packaging) it’s conveniently timed to coincide with this summer’s upcoming movie Space Jam: A New Legacy with LeBron James, and Lola Bunny with a basketball is included in the series. The new minifigures will be available for US $4.99 | CAN $4.99 | UK £3.49 starting April 26, although some readers report already seeing them pop up in stores now.

What’s black and white and red all over? – LEGO Marvel 76199 Carnage [Review]

Building on the success of their Star Wars helmets, LEGO has been producing more mini-busts based on other pop culture licenses. In 2020 an Iron Man helmet joined the ranks, and in 2021 we’re getting even more comic-book related heads. First out of the gate is Marvel 76199 Carnage, a Target retailer exclusive that can also be obtained directly from LEGO for US $59.99 | CAN $79.99 | UK £54.99 starting April 11th in the US and Canada, and in the UK on May 1st. This 546 piece set depicts the Spider-Man arch-foe with plenty of creepy detail, but does it have larger appeal beyond a villainous dust catcher? Read on and see!

LEGO Monkie Kid 80023 Monkie Kid’s Team Dronecopter [Review]

The Monkie Kid theme has another wave of sets that, like the previous wave, are full of colorful vehicles and cartoonish accessories like jet-packs with huge engines. And this time, there’s a brand new batch of baddies, based on cyber-spiders. One of the biggest sets in this wave has a little bit of everything, from fold-out playsets for both sides, mecha-spiders, a massive quad-copter for Sandy, and a jet-powered cat carrier for Mo the cat. We’ve got a lot to cover, so let’s jump right in. 80023 Monkie Kid’s Team Dronecopter comes with 1462 pieces and is available now for US $149.99 | CAN $199.99 | UK £119.99
