Pirates of the Caribbean BrickHeadz revealed, BrickHeadz available now [News]

LEGO’s new line of BrickHeadz characters are available now for LEGO VIP Program members on the LEGO Shop online. These sets will be available to the general public beginning Wednesday, March 1. LEGO’s VIP Program is free to join, and you can sign up online, so you can still order your BrickHeadz today even if you’re not already a VIP member. You can check out our reviews of The LEGO Batman Movie sets and Marvel Avengers sets if you’re not sure which one you want to buy first.

Also revealed today are two new characters from Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. Included in the instruction books and on the boxes for 41595 Belle and 41596 Beast are images for none other than Captain Jack Sparrow (41593) and a new character: Captain Armando Salazar (41594).

Better mad with the rest of the world than sane alone

Remember Set 4183 based on the Isla Cruces scene from Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest? Well, W. Navarre revamped it and it is glorious! The crumbling stonework and rickety water wheel are perfect. As is that large circular window above the door. The bell tower even has a complete staircase and bell on the inside!

Sparrow vs. Turner

Our next model isn’t a vignette by the strictest sense of the LEGO nerd definition, the footprint is well over the prescribed 8 x 8 stud rule, but it still has the feel of one. The subject matter is the duel in the blacksmith shop from Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl. Ian Spacek is the responsible party, and although he doesn’t have any specific detail that will illicit cries of “NPU bro!” on Flickr, the scene is just about perfect. I’m not sure how faithful it is to the original, but just taken as a LEGO construct it has a wonderful simplicity. Ian also has some nice work in his photostream from a Willy Wonka themed BrickWorld collaboration he participated in earlier this year.

Deep in the Bayou, the Pirates Converge...

Tia Dalma’s haven of witchcraft was one of the eerier scenes in Dead Man’s Chest, with Jack Sparrow and company slinking through the murky woods to consult a medium. This scene by flickr user Walter Boy captures a bit of that uncanniness, and is a great model besides. The dark tan, dark brown, and dark green merge together well to give this diorama more ominous tones, and the dark background is an excellent choice.

Lego Flying Dutchman for the Lego Pirates of the Caribbean video game

Carl Greatrix is a designer for the official Lego games, and his design of the Flying Dutchman for the Lego Pirates of the Caribbean video game shows why he’s the man for the job. Even though this is a render, just about all the parts used are official Lego elements.

LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean video game preview on G4

The Pirates of the Caribbean LEGO sets released today reminded me that we’re starting to get footage of the upcoming LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean video game. This video highlights some gameplay and cut scenes, as well a brief interview with Associate Producer Matt Ellison.

LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean sets out now from LEGO Shop [News]

In time for the movie’s release next month, the new LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean sets are now available from the LEGO Shop online.

4195 Queen Anne’s Revenge has 1,094 pieces and comes with 7 minifigs, including Blackbeard, Jack Sparrow, and Angelica.

It looks like a great pirate ship, but I’m most excited by a lot of the smaller sets, such as 4191 Zombie Pirates and4192 Fountain of Youth.

It’s nice that the Pirates of the Caribbean sets aren’t all vehicles, but 4193 The London Escape does have a couple of cute carriages.

LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean Miniland figures

Tommy Williamson, I salute you. These Miniland figures from Pirates of the Caribbean include an amazing level of detail. Jack Sparrow is nice, but Captain Barbossa is awesome.

After numerous leaks across the internet, pictures of upcoming LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean sets are officially revealed on MTV. There are photos of 8 sets including Queen Anne’s Revenge, Aqua de Vida, Cannibal Escape, Captain’s Cabin, Isla de Muerta, London Escape, The Mill, and Whitecap Bay. Meanwhile, a short trailer for the related video game is also out.

LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean: Hidden Captain Jack at Comic-Con [NEWS]

A friend pointed out this hidden little gem inside one of the Prince of Persia LEGO display cases at Comic-Con International. Sure looks like a prototype Captain Jack from Pirates of the Caribbean.

Full bore and into the abyss with Davy Jones

I Scream Clone heads for the depths of the sea with this fantastic depiction of Davy Jones’ Locker from Pirates of the Caribbean.

The Kit Fisto minifig works very well for the nefarious Davy Jones himself, while Jones’ pipe organ is well-built indeed.
