Yihaggothan Flight Commando
The elite Yihaggothan Flight Commando leads the Yihaggothan Imperium into battle against the “frail” human horde. Human Marines, fighting a desparate battle against the alien invaders, have nicknamed this commando the “Tse Tse Trooper,” due to the buzzing sound emmitted by his hover-pack.
Witness the “Tse Tse Trooper” buzzing around in the upper-left corner of this photo:

Lewis & Clark rediscover Long Beach
Almost exactly two hundred years ago, Meriwether Lewis and William Clark ended their expedition across North America at Cape Disappointment (named 17 years earlier by English Captain John Meares), at the southern end of what is now the Long Beach Peninsula in Washington.
This past weekend, Lewis and Clark revisited — and rediscovered — Long Beach:

“Revenge is a dish best served cold...”
Yarrr!!!
As I’ve said before (I’m sure I say this every twelve months or so), I love that time of the year when new sets are starting to show up in stores and people are beginning to use the new pieces in interesting ways. Agent oo7 has used one of the new beards in 7036 Dwarfs Mining to create an absolutely perfect Edward “Blackbeard” Teach. The old-style capes oo7 used for Blackbeard’s coat are a nice touch.
First look at new BrickArms weapons [News]
Those of us who attended BrickCon 2007 last weekend learned that Will Chapman of BrickArms is working on some new weapons. Will generously gave me some early prototypes to show off to everyone out there interested in custom accessories for their minifigs.
The first two weapons should be familiar to fans of a certain trilogy of popular video games:
Will is also working on some real-world weapons, including the M1 Garand rifle:
In a session on Sunday morning, Will also described his development process, including how he uses test molds to create small batches of prototypes before committing to a final design. I thought the test molds were really cool, so he lent me an early version he used to design the M1 Garand:
Will asked me to remind everyone that he’s just experimenting at this point, and he can’t guarantee that any of these will make it into production. I personally think these are very cool, and can’t wait to see the final versions.
Photo review of 7036 Dwarves’ Mine on BrickZone.net
The newest Castle set, 7036 Dwarves’ Mine, is starting to show up in stores and online. For those of us cursed to live near the end of The LEGO Company’s supply chain, we have the BrickZone.net photo review to make us jealous of the rest of you.
Of particular note is the fact that the two new beard pieces are wrap-arounds with ponytails on the back!
I’m going to be gravely disappointed if I don’t get this for my birthday next week…
Give me a P! Give me an A! Give me a T!
I can’t possibly spell out Patrick Bosman in the post title, so here are his cheerleaders:

News: Photos of 2008 impulse purchase sets
Haven’t you ever walked up to the checkout at a grocery store or toy store, looked at all the really terrible, cheaply made toys that are supposed to attract your attention and wished “Why couldn’t these be LEGO instead?! I want minifigs! With accessories!” Well, I have, and my wish has come true! Hurray!
I can’t wait for 2008!

The Quest
I’ve been wanting to do something like this for a while. It was inspired by Anthony Sava’s Cold Winter’s Knight.
Here’s a closeup of the cave entrance, if you are into such things.
Historical Personages by Morgan19
I’ve admired Morgan19‘s minifigs ever since I noticed his great Firefly minifigs. The latest batch is a group of historical minifigs, entries for the Fine Clonier Historical Minifig Contest.
I might quibble with the “historical” nature of some of these, but it’s a great collection of minifigs, presented beautifully.
