It’s got style, you know what I’m saying?
Bley Walker IV, by Alex Thyroid, has a great aesthetic. This isn’t the sort of shape you see every day for mecha. It doesn’t use a lot of flashy techniques, and there are a few rough transitions mixed in, but none of that matters. It’s just so different, and cool looking. I especially like the shape of the head, great use of technic pieces.
If you check out some of the other photos, you’ll see that the back opens. Don’t we all love play features?
One Charming Mecha
Maybe it’s because this new mecha by H3llb0ye reminds me of the aliens from the opening of The Fifth Element. Maybe it’s because it’s posed something like a gorilla. Perhaps its how expressive the poses seem to be.
Whatever the reasons, I’m a big fan of this mecha.
TER-03 Exploration Hardsuit
Alvaro Gunawan (pyrefyre) treats us to a new hardsuit “For times when a regular space suit just doesn’t work.”
This one works rather nicely, though I have to admit that if I squint my eyes, it does look just a little bit like it has a duck’s face…
FHF S07 Ujio Ground Type mecha by Fredoichi
Fredo Houben (Fredoichi) builds his biggest mecha yet, and successfully channels some of the best Japanese mecha builders.
Fredo says he’s more than happy with the result. We are too.
It’s odd
Brickshelfer Scouzy treat us to a strange mecha with rather poky legs that have some cool details under them.

Compartmentalised geeks
Making a good mecha is hard. Making a good carrier is hard. Making a good carrier that carries a good mecha all snugly folded is really hard. Fortunately Aran (Cole Blaq) managed to pull it off.
Tri-Runner spy drone
If I were a secret agent, I’d want one of these Tri-Runners by The Zipper. The gears give an appearance of functionality and the color combo makes this robot remarkable.
Walking stick battle bug
The battle bugs theme has spawned some unique insect-based mechas. This stick insect inspired battle bug by Jordan Schwartz is among one of the more novel species in its class. The creation is as fragile as it looks, and I’m afraid it may collapse if I stare too hard at it. Nevertheless it is armed with three ventral rockets and one on the tail.
Nowhere to hide from the many eyes of Panoptes
It can be argued that the latest mecha by Bill (kidthor) is one of his best ones yet, but unarguably the photography on this one is his best, highlighting the crystal clear details of the creation against a non-distracting white background. You can find the full gallery on MOCpages, which shows a well-designed circular cockpit.
Harrison’s LEGO Wall-E looks skyward
Harrison (corran101) says he’s had his Wall-E lying around for quite a while. This tiny diorama illustrates the continuing emotive power of Wall-E. The rundown robot in the background totally makes this, with a rusted patch and broken eye.
And don’t miss those tread marks behind Harrison’s LEGO Wall-E. Well worth the wait, I think.
District 9 Mecha Suit
Brian Kescenovitz (mondayn00dle) knows his way around building mechas, so naturally comes this accurate rendition of the mecha suit from District 9. In addition to expertly crafting a detailed frame, Brian uses custom stickers to add a new level of realism to the creation. Lastly, the irregularly shaped baseplate with littered junk completes a scene. Will there be room for a can of cat food? Don’t forget to say hi to Wikus at the controls.
