Harry Potter has been a popular LEGO theme since 2001, letting fans recreate the adventures of Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, Ron Weasley and friends as they balance classwork and adventure at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Official sets include minifgure-scale building sets, Microscale dioramas, Brickheadz characters, and display pieces for collectors.

Two years after making a LEGO recreation of the Gryffindor Common Room from Harry Potter, Hans Dendauw is back with a fun, detailed version of Professor Dumbledore’s office. Both builds are constructed in the style of the current line of Harry Potter sets, and I would happily purchase them. The books and the carpet really tie the room together along with the twin curved staircases. There are some fun elements lurking around, like The Monster Book of Monsters from The Chamber of Secrets in the lower right and the Niffler from the Fantastic Beasts films, perched on top of one of the many bookshelves. I can’t wait to see what Hans will come up with next.

LEGO Harry Potter 76389 Hogwarts Chamber of Secrets [Review]

Harry Potter has been at school for a long, long time. Even in LEGO minifigure form, he started at Hogwarts way back in 2001. That means that 2021 marks the 20th Anniversary of Harry’s LEGO journey, and this year LEGO is celebrating by branding the Harry Potter sets with a special logo and including exclusive gold versions of key characters in the sets. Today we’re looking at the biggest set from the new wave, 76389 Hogwarts Chamber of Secrets. Set in Harry Potter’s second year at Hogwarts, the set includes 11 minifigures, including several characters who have never appeared in minifigure form before: Professor Aurora Sinistra, Colin Creevy, and Justin Finch-Fletchley. On sale now, the set contains 1,176 pieces including 11 minifigures and will retail for US $129.99 | CAN $169.99 | UK £129.99.

11/12 Grimmauld Place – transforming Harry Potter build

Accio Harry Potter fans! This Harry Potter LEGO creation from Alan McMorran is a delight. Alan takes Grimmauld Place, featured as a transforming house in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, and expertly reworks the design to fit between Assembly Square and Pet Shop. It really does belong on this street from the dog sitting by the door to the exposed bricks to the white windows. When attention is drawn to the top of the building one starts to suspect that something’s a little…magical about this place. The windows look medieval and the color shifts to a somber combination of black and gray.

The model is great, but this is where it truly becomes remarkable. The building can be transformed from 11 Grimmauld Place into 12 Grimmauld Place. Watch the transformation here.

Eric Law has awed and inspired many times over with his dazzling and ginormous recreations of the Wizarding World. This time, he brings us an exceptional model of the Hogwarts Entrance Hall. There is so much going on here, it’s a little shocking. Dare you to take the time to count all the frames!

LEGO BrickHeadz Harry Potter 40495: Harry, Hermione, Ron and Hagrid [Review]

We have already had BrickHeadz of Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Hagrid all at the standard size, but LEGO has decided that we didn’t have enough Harry Potter. So they came out with this new version of Hagrid with the three most famous first years in Hogwarts’ recent history. What might not be clear at first glance is that these kids are not built on the 4×4 main character standard but rather on the smaller 3×3 buddy standard. This helps to maintain the proper scale when they gather around the lovable groundskeeper, Rubeus Hagrid. The set includes 466 pieces and will be available on June 1, 2021. LEGO has not released pricing information at the time of writing this review, but based on previous BrickHeadz sets with multiple characters, I would guess that the set will be around $24.99 US.

LEGO BrickHeadz Harry Potter 40496: Voldemort, Nagini and Bellatrix [Review]

If you are a fan of the Harry Potter franchise and a collector of BrickHeadz, you might be scratching your head at the one-sided line-up released so far, which includes the three heroes of the story, along with Dumbledore, Hagrid, Buckbeak, and Newt, but only one villain so far, Gellert Grindelwald. Well, that is about to change. With the upcoming release of a brand new batch of bad guys and girls. That’s right, the most feared villain in history, He Who Must Not Be Named himself, Lord Voldemort, is finally joining the ranks of BrickHeadz along with his snake Nagini and Bellatrix Lestrange. LEGO BrickHeadz Harry Potter 40496 Voldemort, Nagini, and Bellatrix includes 344 pieces and will be available starting June 1, 2021. LEGO has not released a price or parts count at the time of this review, but based on previous multi-character sets, I’m guessing it will be around $24.99 US.

LEGO Harry Potter reveals 8 new sets for Summer 2021, available to pre-order now [News]

The core Harry Potter books and movies may be wrapped up now, but the merchandising is still chugging along at top speed. Today, LEGO has unveiled the summer 2021 wave of Harry Potter sets, which brings new additions to the modular Hogwarts castle series, a chess set, and even a totally new series: giant brick-built minifigures. LEGO says that a selection of the sets is available for pre-order starting today, though at the time of writing they haven’t clarified specifically which sets will be available. With prices ranging from $20 to $130 USD, all of the sets will be released on June 1, though most of them are exclusive to specific retailers until August 1.

Two new LEGO Harry Potter sets revealed by online retailer [News]

Pictures of two upcoming LEGO Harry Potter sets were published today on Amazon’s Spanish webpage. 76388 Hogsmeade Village Visit and 76389 Hogwarts Chamber of Secrets seem to be two of the largest sets of the summer wave. The product pictures give a great overview of the models and the minifigures included, but we still have to wait for the official reveal to learn about the prices and availability.

Potions, potions, potions, everywhere you look

Gayle Spiller shows us she knows how to brew a potion or two with her latest LEGO creation. It depicts Dumbledore and Snape in what I guess is Snape’s classroom. And it looks nothing like the LEGO’s latest 76383 Hogwarts Moment: Potion Class set! Gayle used a mix of techniques to portray stained glass windows. For the window on the left she used the 4-way lug wrench. On the window in the middle she used a net. And for the right window she used a combination of whips, bars and window panes. I love the base with the ingots and the columns with the arches. Having the arches stop half way makes this creation feel like just a small detail of something way bigger. The room is filled with all sorts of bottles and flasks and the absolute best little build has to be the bunsen burner using horns for legs. Which famous potions can you spot?

As we continue a tour around the Hogwarts school, right after a quick lecture on transfiguration as given by Professor McGonagall in 76382 Hogwarts Moment: Transfiguration Class, it’s time to take a seat by a pot full of a boiling potion. LEGO Harry Potter 76383 Hogwarts Moment: Potion Class is the second set in the mini-series of mid-sized buildable books depicting a classroom of Professor Snape. The set consists of 271 pieces and comes with three minifigures. The set is available today for US $29.99 | CAN $39.99 | UK £27.99.
