LEGO has been releasing sets based on Disney brands since 1999, including everything from Winnie the Pooh DUPLO sets to the massive Disneyland Castle for adult collectors. If there’s a new Disney or Pixar film hitting theaters or Disney Plus, chances are you can expect at least one new LEGO tie-in. Sets inspired by classic films like Snow White, Frozen and Moana have become a cornerstone of LEGO’s product lineup.

LEGO official Wall•E set finally revealed [News]

LEGO has raised the curtain on its latest set, 21303 Wall•E. This is our first official glimpse of the finished product since an official Wall•E set was announced over a year ago, and we’re excited to bring our readers a full hands-on review of this set tomorrow!

21303 Wall•E

LEGO Ideas member MacLane is an animator and director at Pixar Animation Studios, and built his original WALL•E model around the same time the character was being built digitally at Pixar in late 2005. Since then, Angus has refined his model, most recently by collaborating with LEGO Designer Steen Sig Andersen and WALL•E director Andrew Stanton to bring the official LEGO Ideas version to life.
You’ll be able to purchase your own WALL•E starting September 1, for a recommended retail price of $49.99 / EUR 49,99.

You can read the rest of the press release over at the LEGO Ideas blog.

He’s a tramp, but they love him

Disney’s classic dog-tastic animated feature The Lady and Tramp may be turning 60 this year, but some of us still remember it like it was new (well, on its 3rd re-release more like). And Nicolas Picot has perfectly captured the movie’s signature moment. Woof!

Elsa’s Ice Castle from Disney’s Frozen in LEGO

Last year, Disney unleashed Frozen upon us, and since then, everyone has heard “Let it Go” in one way or another. Every parent has heard the soundtrack, and probably has contemplated hiding it.

Simon MacDonald (SIMAFOL) has gone one step further, creating a minifigure-scale version of Princess Elsa’s castle.

View the sights of Disneyland in style

Jordan Schwartz (Sir Nadroj) is back to his usual capers of Disney-themed models with this Disneyland Omnibus. I particularly like the incorporation of the large curved staircase at the rear, which is a notoriously annoying piece to incorporate well into a complex model, but looks great here.

“I wanna stuff some chocolate in my face!”

Inspired by his favorite song from the hugely popular Disney movie Frozen, Ian Spacek recreated this moment from the scene in which Anna sings the movie’s “I want” song – For the First Time in Forever.

Ian recently unveiled this at Brickworld Chicago, where I was lucky enough to see it up close. And fortunately, our pals from Beyond the Brick were there to interview Ian all about the build too. Wanna know how many log bricks it took to make that roof?! Watch and find out…

A feast for the eyes

As popular as LEGO’s Mixels line has become, I must admit to me they are just great “parts packs”. And now I have more eyeball bricks than I know what to do with! But it’s heartening to see how these new parts seem to have stimulated a minor surge in character-based builds since the line’s introduction back in March.

Case in point: Serbian builder Djordje uses them to great effect in this recreation of Goofy, everyone’s favorite …erm, what the heck is he again?

Evil Queen disguised as the Old Hag to see Snow White

“All alone my pet?”

As a kid the Old Hag scared me a lot, still does to this day, but this delightful rendition of the Old Hag from Snow White by Millie McKenzie (Leda Kat) is amazingly cute and adorable:

Snow White - Old Hag

The Old Hag is the fantastic centerpiece to the build, but I really like how she framed the build and all the details in the window, the broom and the chair.

The Great Stone Dragon Awakes

Mushu is almost certainly my favorite Disney character, and this hilarious sculpture by Mike Nieves (Retinence) is perfect. I’m amazed that Mike was able to effectively pull off such a spindly creature while maintaining enough structural integrity for it stand.

Disney Princess Parade

Gregory Coquelz (Yatkuu) (and family!) has created this absolutely adorable display featuring several Disney Princesses all in one scene:

Can you spot them all?

You can take a closer look at this when it goes on display at the LEGO store in Raleigh, NC, USA, second half of March.

Frozen’s Olaf Gets his Wish

Disney’s latest hit Frozen has such fantastic characters–Olaf being one of them. His wish is to see summer time (and it’s DEFINITELY close to summer-time weather here in Florida). In his words, winter’s a good time to stay in and cuddle, but put him in summer and he’ll be a….happy snowman.

Joe Meno‘s brilliant Olaf took his WALL-E towel down to the beach to catch some of those rays:

Chip ‘n’ Dale

Brickshelf user m-and-m did a great job of building these classic Disney chipmunks and capturing their characteristic expressions. The stump display stand is a great addition for presentation, and the acorn is a brilliant finishing touch.

Darth Mouse, Sith Meets Mickey

I spotted this a week ago, and failed to get a post published until now. I still think this creation by Nick V (brickthing) is worth sharing, though. I’ve been seeing a lot of Disney/Star Wars mashups, since the announcement that Disney was acquiring Lucasfilm, but this is the first I’ve seen in LEGO. Darth Vader meets Mickey, I love it!
