The LEGO mousetronauts and their moon cheese

The key to a great LEGO Feb-Rovery construction is picking a concept and going at it hard. Some choose to base their rover around a single part. Others take inspiration from long-lost LEGO Space factions. And yet another group may just want to work in a specific color palette. But then there are those like Maxx Davidson who take this theme month as an opportunity to answer a question that no one asked. In this case, it’s “What if mice went to the moon in search of cheese?” Following in the footsteps of Wallace and Gromit, here’s hoping these galactic gastronomes make it back to Earth with all the moon-muenster they can manage.

Charcuterie is like Lunchables for grownups

When I first moved to the West Coast, I learned about the joys of a charcuterie board. It can be impromptu, served with an array of cheese, crackers, meats, bread, and fruits. Extra awesome kudos points are added if there is also wine involved. This pretty much became my all-time favorite meal and I wondered how I was deprived of this classy goodness for like thirty years. That’s why I was particularly thrilled to see this yummy LEGO cheese platter buit by Cecilie Fritzvold. The grapes look especially tasty. I’ve learned just now that writing a TBB article for such a delicious-looking creation while also on an empty stomach is a bit counterproductive. Time to raid the fridge! While I do that, please check out other mouth-watering food creations by other builders with a pinache for culinary delights.

Did someone say charcuterie board...

Some LEGO fan creations we feature over at TBB, consist of hundreds of different little parts. Some creations are a bit less part intensive, but that doesn’t mean they are less clever. This creation by Isaac Wilder. is a great example. Isaac is known for his brick-built vehicles but sometimes draws inspiration from different sources. This time the inspiration might have come from the egg part or it might have come from a very nice charcuterie board enjoyed with friends over the weekend. I think we can all agree that the use of green eggs for grapes is absolutely perfect. Pairing it with a great flavoursome cheese is no more than logical.

Brothers Brick contributor Benjamin Stenlund has been braving the Iron Forge lately, and this artistic build make uses of the seed part of a LEGO banana. And that’s cool and all, but there are other keen details to enjoy. If you look closely you’ll spot some wildlife hanging out in those colorful puddles of paint. And I really do enjoy when a frog shows up unexpectedly as creative part usage. And somehow that rat is even more perfect, with the curve of its tail suggesting a squiggle of paint.

The cheese stands alone

We’ll soon return you to your regularly scheduled Baby Yoda or Star Wars spaceship or whatever you folks are demanding more of but first I wanted to show you this cute near life-sized rat built by Keiichi Kamei. The rats that occasionally invade my backyard are a bit bigger than this but his stance, his little ears, his bare tail and even his hands are all pretty spot on. I’d be more agreeable to sharing some cheese with them if they weren’t so invasive in real life.
