LEGO, with its cuboid forms, can be a tricky medium in which to attempt organic shapes. Ольга Родионова has done a lovely job with these daisies though — beautiful white petals surrounding a glorious sun-yellow core. Nice work with the green clamshells underneath too. The depth of focus on the photography is excellent, creating a nice sense of scale, and adding immensely to the model’s presentation.
What may seem like an ordinary LEGO build of a clock face is more than meets the eye. I’m extremely impressed with the tessellation of bricks to form an almost perfect circle for the clock face on a flat surface. LEGO bricks are inherently blocky and angular, and it’s pretty tough to form a round plate. I’m not sure how long it took Jason Pyett to figure this out, but it’s surely time well spent with the outcome achieved!

LEGO builder Helen Sham is a huge Nintendo fan, so she decided to combine her loves by building an incredible arcade cabinet completely out of LEGO. Standing more than 5 feet tall, the cabinet features brick-built graphics from the game Mario vs Donkey Kong 2. TBB spoke with Helen, and she’s given TBB an exclusive early look at this amazing machine.

If you go to the beach this summer, you had better watch your step. If you don’t, you might just trigger a painful pinch from PaulvilleMOCS’ little hermit crab! If you’re wondering why the shell looks so real it’s because it is. While it may not be a brick-built solution, it works quite well and makes the LEGO hermit crab look delightfully authentic. In addition to this, the sandy scenery makes this little crustacean all the more believable.
Was it Greedo, or was it Han? How about Markus Rollbühler? Markus wanted to gear up for the new Solo: A Star Wars Story movie coming out next week by building Solo’s DL-44 Heavy Blaster for a contest hosted by theRogueBricks Flickr group. He has done such a wonderful job recreating this Star Wars that I’m almost convinced he personally presented the gun to the space cowboy himself. I enjoy Markus’ attention to detail, including the textured leather grip. From a distance, it almost looks like the real deal!
Recreating something faithfully in LEGO can be difficult and complicated, but if what you are recreating is simple, sometimes only a handful of bricks can do the job surprisingly well. Hachiroku24 has recreated two very iconic items from the Harry Potter series and the simplicity of his replicas is much of their charm — just as the stories!
The wand is very simple in its construction, but the builder really captured the shaping of a Potter-esque magic wand. The glasses, on the other hand, use some clever parts, especially the thin tyre pieces as the glasses frames. Holding a life-sized LEGO nostalgic gem like these in one’s hand must feel incredibly satisfying!

We all love Star Wars, but why should only the spaceships and battle scenes get all the love? How about some Jawas? This is what I imagine could have gone through Jacob Sadovich‘s mind when starting this build. This Jawa is so realistic, I just want to sell all my scrap copper to it!
What I really like about this build is that it is 100% LEGO, including the cloth. We have seen large Jawa figures in LEGO before, even life-sized ones, but most of them cheated at least a little. There is more to Jacob’s interpretation than just the robes, of course. The eyes light up and the belts with pouches are ironicaly made out of pouches with belts. The ion gun the little guy is holding in his hand also adds a lot to the character, as does the Technic-lined base.
Some might say that there are two kinds of LEGO creations: those that are pure imagination, and those that are modeled after something specific. You could argue that the former is harder because you have to come up with a design out of thin air. The latter at least has a sense of direction! On the other hand, if you’ve ever tried to recreate a non-LEGO subject in detailed LEGO form, you would know that it’s really difficult to get it to look just right. But one builder, wes_turngrate, has managed to pull this off in exceptional fashion! His LEGO version of a Great Western Railway 8750 Pannier Tank Engine is just about as close to the original as you can get!

Obviously a lot of love and attention to detail went into this train. You may notice there are a couple slight differences between the two pictured, but they’re actually that way for a reason. The O-gauge model train in the background is his late father’s original GWR 5700 Class engine. Apparently this LEGO version is modeled after a minor variant (8750). Even so, these are incredibly close and we’re very impressed either way! Wes, I’m sure this is one build your father would be proud of!

Yes, boys and girls, if you really want to stand out amongst the crowd when all your friends have regular dart guns, here’s one that’s guaranteed to make them go green with envy. Astonishing Studios built a fully working Nerf Dart gun using LEGO.
Well, the only caveat is you’ve still got to purchase the foam darts, which is going to still put a hole in your pocket.

I grew up playing lots of first-person shooter games. Even with great shooters in recent memory like Titanfall, Rainbow Six: Siege, and Overwatch, my favorite remains the Halo series. There’s nothing too complex about classic Halo multiplayer, which I have always appreciated. To show my fandom of one of my favorite games, I present a LEGO replica of the M6D Magnum from the original Halo: Combat Evolved from 2001.
