We’re gonna need a bigger cave racer...

The title of Brent “thwaak” Wolke‘s entry for the Reasonably Clever Pigs on the Wing contest was too perfect not to *ahem* borrow for my own post title here. ;-) Brent’s Jaws-inspired fishing boat/cave racer manages to hit all the rules while still being completely unlike any other cave racer we’ve featured or that appears Continue reading →

Nannan’s lineup of cave racers

The cave racers fad started by Tim Gould is sweeping the community like a superfast swoosh. There are countless versions of these small crafts made by many builders and in all kinds of styles. What a pretty Cave Racer...

In honor of Tim, our fellow Brickian Brother, Jas Nagra has concocted a little cave racer and given it some rather unusual colors. Pink and teal anyone?

Celebrate the Summer of Slug with this very punk Galidor racer

Over on youtube, R.R. Slugger dishes out searing hot takes on the state of LEGO playsets, focused on  nostalgia for the brand’s more experimental period before Star Wars and Harry Potter took over. For this “Summer of Slug,” the creator challenged fans to create  Time Drifters – vehicles inspired by the unfairly maligned Time Cruisers/Twisters line that mashed up LEGO themes that ’90s kids will remember. Builder @urdronthedancefloor is killing it with this groovy racer that uses a Galidor torso for a chassis. I love the kit-bash aesthetics, drawing on old and new parts with punk energy that captures the no-rules spirit of play that makes LEGO special. #timedrifters #summerofslug2025

Now this is Pod Racing! The most wizard LEGO Pod Racers in the galaxy [Feature]

Whatever your feelings about Star Wars Episode I’s convoluted plot, clunky dialogue, and over-reliance on slapstick, when the Boonta Eve Classic kicks off, the movie soars. Podracers – typically a small cockpit yoked to massive engines – are an homage to chariot racing, Formula 1, and muscle cars. The simple formula has proven a perfect Continue reading →
