Actually, Karf Oohlu has used three banana parts — one minifig-scale fruit on each side of the racer and a larger one in the center, which is the new banana mask from the Series 16 collectible minifigures. Assuming this poor monkey pilot has to maintain its position above some huge blast, then the racer reminds me of those good old cave racers that were flying around Flickr about 8 years ago. Hold on tight, reckless monkey!
Malte Dorowski, who is a huge fan of Porsche sports cars, rolls out a magnificent copy of Porsche 911 GT3 RS. Despite being built out of System bricks, it looks much more complicated than its bigger brother from the Technic Technic Porsche 911 set. From the very first sight you know that this little beauty is much more complicated on the inside than on the outside.
Malte builds his cars with astonishing level of detail, including elaborate inner workings in his models. It’s not only about the interior, but about all the nodes and joints. I had no idea how all these parts could be assembled into one car, but the longer you observe the dismantled vehicle, the better you see some truly mind-blowing solutions Malte used to keep the tiniest of slopes and tiles together.
I must admit Jurassic Park was one of the most impressive films of my childhood. Of course, it was because of dinosaurs. But even before the dinosaurs appeared on the screen, I fell in love with the grey and red Wrangler jeeps that the characters used to travel around the park. And now Silva Vasil invites us to see a prehistoric reptile in this jar-dropping copy of the iconic off-road vehicle.
A lot of real-life things recreated with LEGO bricks look bizarre and mind-boggling. But what about some of the most alien-looking lizards on planet Earth? Not one, but two brilliant chameleons came across our radar lately. The first one is by Dvd; it’s a little bit clumsy yet such an adorable lizard. And if its design looks slightly imperfect to you that’s because it was built solely out of pieces from LEGO Creator set 31034 Future Flyers. What a gorgeous alternative creation!
Another chameleon by Mitsuru Nikaido is a great example of an animal mech. These tiny pads, huge round eyes and a long spiral tail give this lizard such a credible design, and putting it on a twig is a beautiful way to present the creation.
Did you know there are no more than 40 people in New York city living higher than 800 feet? Obviously, the view from above is the main perk of choosing such a dwelling. Finnish builder Heikki Mattila – who definitely has an eye for classy hi-tech interiors – invites us to have a look from inside one of those apartments. I can’t tell you why, but the purple background goes extremely well with skyline made of sky-high towers. The interior is exactly what you expect to see in such a luxurious residence: a comfy chair near a fashionable glass coffee table completed with a cut-glass chandelier.
Daniel Siskind, creator of many advanced military scale models, has revealed his latest Mi-24 helicopter. Just look at this beauty!
There are so many awesome features of this helicopter, but the best of all is its perfectly balanced design. No matter which part you’re examining, every single piece, slope, or tile was meticulously chosen and placed. Canopies of rather peculiar shape work perfectly for the Mi-24’s cockpits, while a smooth row of tan and dark-green slopes along the body of the helicopter is aesthetically pleasing. Of course, the presentation wouldn’t be complete without a close-up shot of the rocket launchers — a perfect use of the most common of LEGO parts.

Serbian builder Djordje, who is at his best when creating large action figures, surprises us with this tiny sparrow. There’s nothing complicated in its structure, yet it looks so lively it could take flight the moment its creator was taking the picture. My favourite touch is the sparrow’s legs; I guess from now on I won’t be able to look at droid arms without thinking about birds…
Even though many say that the future of the auto industry is self driving cars, I’d prefer the future as envisaged by gray mini — with smooth massive powerful cars.
Behind this unique design hides the car we all dreamt about as children. Huge wheels, low cockpit and the largest windscreen you can imagine — this was the recipe for the coolest car when I was a kid. And now here it is with such a pretty pilot. If I had built a car like this then I would have kept it assembled for a few weeks to show off to all my friends!
Finding yourself in a middle of lifeless desert during a crimson sunset is probably one of my biggest fears. Thanks, vir-a-cocha, for illustrating it! But honestly, this scenery looks amazingly cinematic. Even thought it’s just a vast empty desert, there are so many things to spy, like the skull near a lovely cactus or the smooth transition between the foreground and the background via forced perspective. Fading sky is absolutely the best way to complete this masterpiece.
