And there’s no better place for a celebration than one that serves some juicy burgers, even if it’s just a burger stand on a street corner. Kale Frost designs one using round corner bricks 6x6x2 in tan as the top bun with an appetizing mix of green, white, red and yellow parts underneath it. And if you’re not into burgers make sure to check one of Kale’s previous builds, a fantastic fries stand.
Nonno, padre e figlio — a grandpa, a father and a son — by British builder Jonathan Elliott, are not just a trio of beautiful sport cars, but a legendary dynasty of Ferrari autos: a magnificent Daytona in black, a snazzy Berlinetta Boxer in yellow and, of course, a fabulous Testarossa in Ferrari red.
Besides their brilliant execution, these cars are remarkable for Jonathan’s choice of scale. While most of builders create their cars 4- or 5-studs wide when using 18mm D. x 12mm wheels, Jonathan varies the width of the car’s bodies from 6 up to 8 studs in the rear part of Testarossa. Finally, the relatively new 5 x 4 x 1 1/3 windscreen piece creates an extremely smooth transition between the hood and the tiled roof.

A stunning combination of shiny chrome-gold rings on dark-red armour contributes a lot to the model’s calm but awe-inspiring character. Niels B. Christiansen, 51, has been appointed as the new CEO of the LEGO Group effective October 1, 2017, the Compnay has announced today. Christiansen will replace Bali Padda, 61, who has served as the Company’s first non-Danish chief executive since January, 2017.

Jorgen Vig Knudstorp, the chairman of the LEGO Group, emphasizes that Padda’s age and “realisation he could only do the job for a few years at most” have brought about a change in the top management. Since October 2017 Padda will assume a special advisory role at the newly formed Lego Brand Group serving as “a wonderful ambassador for the LEGO brand”.

Niels B. Christiansen has spent the last 9 years as CEO of another family-owned, Danish-based group, Danfoss. He resigned in March, 2017, saying it was time for a new challenge. During his job at Danfoss he managed to increase the compoany’s revenues by 50 per cent, taking Danfoss from industrial technology to digital technology. Knudstorp describes Christiansen as “one of the strongest CEOs of his generation” and states that he is “confident that under Niels, the LEGO Group will continue to flourish and bring play experiences to more children around the world.”
Designing a large-scale heavy truck in LEGO has never been an easy task, but hardcore builder Dirk Klijn challenged himself to build an FTF Roseboom from the late 1980s — and in relatively-rare sand green bricks no less. Normally you wouldn’t describe sand green as any kind of screaming color, but mixed with dark green and those bright red wheel rims it turns this truck into genuine eye candy.
Thanks to the model’s long wheelbase and bulky body, Dirk managed to pack the truck with a full set of motors controlled via an Sbrick. This gives the model full remote control while preserving the cockpit’s interior…
Marcin Grabowski is at his best designing aggressive-looking LEGO starfighters. This vertically oriented vibrant beauty has the distinct shape of a wasp and is also loaded with a ton of formidable weapons. It’s hard not to fall for the brilliant choice and distribution of stickers across the fighter’s body — the fonts, the numbers, and even some tiny warning signs, all work well in highlighting the ship’s edgy frame.
The classic LEGO Castle themes, like Forestman or Wolfpack, charmed fans with their simple and straightforward designs — faction colors and plain symbols providing the only distinctive elements for each clan. IamKritch makes the most of the styling, reviving two heroes of the past — a couple of fancy Brickheadz warriors. These guys look adorable with their small bow and sword!
Serbian builder Milan Sekiz surprises us with a truly remarkable design of rims for his newest futuristic rover named Duster. Rounded 1 x 4 x 1 2/3 windows work stunningly well shaping both round and elliptic wheels. Rounded windows like these can make any building look very elegant, but coupled with Technic chain tracks, they contribute a lot to this vehicle’s somewhat militaristic look.
LEGO has announced today that Ship In A Bottle: The Flagship Leviathan by Jacob Sadovich will be the next set in the Ideas line. This project was selected from a group of 12 ideas that had gathered 10,000 supporters by January 9, 2017. The project was originally submitted to the LEGO Ideas platform in November 2016, so it took the ship only 48 days to gather fans’ support. Pricing and availability for this set are yet to be announced. The LEGO Ideas Blog interviewed Jacob back in May 2017, where he talked about the challenges he faced creating the model.
And after being held over from a previous review stage, the Voltron – Defenders of the Universe project was also approved to become an Ideas set.
