43-inch LEGO Destiny 2 D.A.R.C.I. knows so very well

Bungie must have had some fascination with sassy robots when creating Destiny 2. Your Ghost companion, the hunter Cayde-6 (voiced by the great Nathan Fillion), and Exodus Black’s AI “Failsafe” always have something witty to say. Even the sniper rifle D.A.R.C.I. has some shade for actions such as quitting multiplayer when your team is losing. The lore for D.A.R.C.I., as well as its interesting, blocky aesthetic and teal tubing inspired my latest LEGO replica.

The build measures over 43 inches long and weighs 9 pounds. It took almost three months to build, but this was due to building every other Saturday, when I would be home from school. For a while, I wanted to build a LEGO prop that utilizes teal elements. As most of the rifle is black, gray, and white, the teal and dark azure details really popped, as does the green scope screen. Despite the LEGO-like look to D.A.R.C.I., its build proved difficult in even spacing of its rectangular details throughout.

LEGO Horizon: Zero Dawn Corruptor war machine

Marius Herrmann shows his mastery in constructing machinery from video games with this Corruptor from Horizon: Zero Dawn. His intricate use of Bionicle pieces, minifigure utensils, and string throughout add to the intimidating appearance. However, it’s the techniques to create the tail claw that is most outstanding to me.

Show me your moves

Captain Falcon is a Nintendo icon, whether one recognizes him as the flagship character of the F-Zero racing games or as the over-expressive fighter in Super Smash Bros. Logey Bear shows us their moves with the brick, creating a LEGO Captain Falcon figure full of his ridiculous charm. A great combination of Bionicle, system, and even Duplo and Scala parts bring this fit, fast fighter to life.

Just hauling some cargo, supplies, and Xenomorphs around

AL13N163NA draws inspiration from Alien: Covenant concept art with a minifigure scale LEGO rendition of the Lifter. The utilitarian aesthetic is captured well with great texturing on the deck and angles to the cockpit frame.

Drive with reckless abandon in the LEGO Technic Halo Warthog

YouTuber Nico71 presents a LEGO Technic model of the iconic Warthog light recon vehicle from the Halo games. With working quad-wheel steering, RC controlled driving, rotating machine gun turret barrels, and suspension, his Hog truly is beauty and the beast. Watch these and many more impressive functions in the video below.

Now THIS is podracing

What if intergalactic bounty hunter 4-LOM participated in the very fast, very dangerous competition of podracing? Tom Vanhaelen presents his idea of the rogue protocol droid’s podracer. The use of metallic colors on the turbines, as well as circular arrays of bars and robot arms, really nail the aesthetic of the heavily-customized podracer.

The use of a rubber piece as the safety harness inside the pod is a clever detail…

All sorts of shady activities at the pirate’s harbor

Nothing valuable is safe from the hands of pirates in Mark van der Maarel’s harbor scene. The construction of each building, the movement of the water, and the scene populated with sketchy pirate operations are all well done without making the overall build appear busy.

The close-up of the alley showcases the subtle offsets to achieve the detailed features of the two buildings. The use of minifigure hands as clothespins, both in appearance and suspension of the tiles, is quite clever.

Drop feet first onto Requiem with the Master Chief

TRLegosfan shows some love for Halo 4 with a colorful diorama depicting the inner surface of the Shield World of Requiem. The aesthetic of the Forerunner world – tall, angular structures upon artificial landscape overgrown with alien vegetation – is shown beautifully in the bricks.

Nothing is true, everything is permitted

Inspired by the upcoming stealth-adventure game Assassin’s Creed: Origins, Kevin J. Walter presents a LEGO statue of ancient-Egyptian protagonist Bayek. His leaping pose is dynamic, enhanced by the flow of fabric from his outfit. The shaping is excellent and the choices of parts and colors for his assassin’s gear match up well with the character in the trailers.

The Void Raven under cover of night

From Random Vector‘s imagination flies the beautiful stealth starship Void Raven. The dark color scheme not only evokes the stealthy feel of the spacecraft, but also places the spotlight on brilliant texturing and clever parts usage throughout.

The pair of translucent blue Bionicle masks inside of an inverted tire in the rear, and the arrays of tread links, are my personal favorite details highlighted here.

Practice shooting targets with a working LEGO Desert Eagle

As a LEGO weapon builder myself, I know how difficult it is to construct a gun model that fires projectiles and manages to look the part. However, YouTuber Snyzer_Tech makes it look easy with his functional Desert Eagle replica. Though it looks a bit flashy in custom-painted gold, his magazine-fed, brick-shooting handgun is impressive in both form and function. Watch Snyzer light up some brick-built targets in this slick two-minute video.

Wearable LEGO Star Wars Jango Fett helmet

Lego Admiral continues his impressive series of wearable LEGO helmets with a build of bounty hunter Jango Fett’s helmet from Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones. The builder continues to refine his techniques since constructing his Darth Vader helmet replica, nailing the dome shape on top, the iconic T-shaped visor slot, and indented cheek plating. The fold-down rangefinder is a nice touch.
