Rip and tear hordes of demons with a LEGO DOOM Super Shotgun [Video]

The 2016 reboot of DOOM was a fun time blasting demons back to hell with a heavy soundtrack and big guns, as it should be. Kyle Moore shows some love for one such gun with a LEGO replica of the Super Shotgun. The timeless double-barrel design translated into bricks appears straight out of the game.

Kyle’s Super Shotgun is ready to blow imps to bits with working features such as break-action, removable and loadable shotgun shells, and a moving trigger, all demonstrated in this fun video.

Build your very own working Nerf dart gun with LEGO [Instructions]

Yes, boys and girls, if you really want to stand out amongst the crowd when all your friends have regular dart guns, here’s one that’s guaranteed to make them go green with envy. Astonishing Studios built a fully working Nerf Dart gun using LEGO.

Well, the only caveat is you’ve still got to purchase the foam darts, which is going to still put a hole in your pocket.

The notoriously overpowered Halo magnum replicated in LEGO [Video]

I grew up playing lots of first-person shooter games. Even with great shooters in recent memory like Titanfall, Rainbow Six: Siege, and Overwatch, my favorite remains the Halo series. There’s nothing too complex about classic Halo multiplayer, which I have always appreciated. To show my fandom of one of my favorite games, I present a LEGO replica of the M6D Magnum from the original Halo: Combat Evolved from 2001.

Be the last man standing with a LEGO Fortnite Tactical Shotgun [Video]

ZaziNombies LEGO Creations expands his arsenal of LEGO gaming weaponry into the massive multiplayer battle royale genre with a replica of the Tactical Shotgun from Fortnite. The chunky style and bold colors of the game were captured well. I especially like the upper handguard area and the screen mounted on the left side. Watch ZaziNombies demonstrate the sliding pump action and compare it to the in-game model in this video.

Equip the functional LEGO Horizon: Zero Dawn Sharpshot Bow

The critically acclaimed PlayStation title Horizon: Zero Dawn continues to inspire fantastic LEGO builds, such as a life-size replica of the Sharpshot Bow built by Peter Mowry. His prop goes beyond beautiful tribal embellishments and impressive scale, though. The bow can fire a live arrow, which is accomplished with a sturdy Technic framework and real bow string.

It’s LEGO Nerf or nothing

Drawing inspiration specifically from the Nerf Elite line of foam dart blasters, Pistash has created his own LEGO Nerf gun. His model doesn’t appear to fire, but with its Elite color scheme and lines of texture breaking up bold shapes, it looks the part. In particular, I like the use of a ladder at the top, white rubber bands to suggest depth to the front dart holsters, and orange brick separators to texture the pistol grip.

A fireteam needs a Guardian to lead the pack

Destiny 2’s equal parts science fiction and fantasy allowed its artists to imagine some unique designs for its exotic gear. One such design is the sidearm Rat King, which has a relief of a pack of rats on the slide and a rat skull surrounding the hammer. Bryce Dempsey replicated this exotic pistol in LEGO, creating its slide and grip texture without sacrificing function.

Bryce’s Rat King features a moving slide, spring-loaded trigger, and removable magazine, all demonstrated in this video.

43-inch LEGO Destiny 2 D.A.R.C.I. knows so very well

Bungie must have had some fascination with sassy robots when creating Destiny 2. Your Ghost companion, the hunter Cayde-6 (voiced by the great Nathan Fillion), and Exodus Black’s AI “Failsafe” always have something witty to say. Even the sniper rifle D.A.R.C.I. has some shade for actions such as quitting multiplayer when your team is losing. The lore for D.A.R.C.I., as well as its interesting, blocky aesthetic and teal tubing inspired my latest LEGO replica.

D.A.R.C.I. - Destiny 2

The build measures over 43 inches long and weighs 9 pounds. It took almost three months to build, but this was due to building every other Saturday, when I would be home from school. For a while, I wanted to build a LEGO prop that utilizes teal elements. As most of the rifle is black, gray, and white, the teal and dark azure details really popped, as does the green scope screen. Despite the LEGO-like look to D.A.R.C.I., its build proved difficult in even spacing of its rectangular details throughout.

See its moving trigger, sliding charging handle, and removable magazine in action, as well as some D.A.R.C.I. gameplay for those unfamiliar with the game, in this video.

Cheers, love! LEGO Tracer’s Pulse Pistols from Overwatch

Tracer has become my hero of choice when playing in Overwatch competitive play on offense. Her movement abilities suit my play style of unpredictable movement—giving me a chance to compensate for my poor aim. So my latest LEGO build is of Tracer’s primary ability, her dual rapid-fire Pulse Pistols. Constructed from 1,063 LEGO parts each (2,126 total parts for the pair), the pistols feature moving triggers, a working “reload” mechanism in which the side disks expand outward, and light-up elements powered by BrickStuff LEDs.

Tracer's Pulse Pistols - Overwatch

The most challenging part of the build was the reload mechanism. The same mechanics as in MyDifferentUsername’s KRM-262 Shotgun were used, but the mechanism had to be reduced from 4-studs wide to 3, so the disks on either side would maintain the overall 5-stud-wide model.

LEGO Glamdring, the Foe-Hammer!

Cole Edmonson has rocked my world again. He has recently posted pictures of his full-scale Glamdring, the sword carried by Gandalf in The Lord of the Rings. It is a beautiful sword and Cole has out-done himself. I hope he continues recreating LOTR weapons in LEGO form. I’m loving it.

Custom Roundup: Crazy Arms, Brickarms, Brickforge & BrickWarriors.

There have been so many new custom items coming out recently, it is almost overwhelming. I’ve been meaning to highlight several of these items and more of them keep coming out!

First on the list is Guy Himber’s Crazy Arms. Guy sent me some of these awhile back but I never got pictures uploaded because my camera was on the fritz and then I forgot. But luckily he has restocked them and they are a lot of fun! They replace the existing minifig arm, allow other “crazy” poses and are currently available in black, brown and white.

CRAZY ARMS info from V&A Steamworks

Brickarms released their Xperimental weapons in October and they look good. I don’t own any but I got to look at a few of them at BrickCon. They definitely live up the standards that Brickarms fans have come to expect. On a side note, Brickarms has reached an agreement with the makers of Offensive Combat. Brickarms will be releasing weapons from the game and some of the Brickarms product line will be appearing in the finished game. I did get some of the prototypes of these weapons and they are fantastic.

By Request, the eXperimental Series

Brickforge has been busy as well, releasing new Shock Trooper armor, Camo patterns and baseball bats in the last couple of months. I haven’t seen the Camo and baseball bats in person, but I got a set of Doomsday Shock Trooper armor in my swag bag at BrickCon and it was pretty cool!

Peek-a-boo!

Lastly, BrickWarriors has been heating up their molds with all sort of new products, including Androids, Demon Armor, Two-Headed Ogres, new plumes and RPGs, among other things. I haven’t picked up any of these yet, but I have been impressed by the number of items they have been putting out lately. I see that some of the items are already sold out, but hopefully they will be restocked soon. Also, BrickWarriors is donating a percentage of each order to Toys for Tots through December 1st.

November 2012 - Dragon Wings, Tail, Lance, and Plumes!

That is all for now, but I will be doing another Custom Roundup this weekend. There was just too much for one post!
