Sharp Indy 4 Pics

To avoid inadvertently posting spoilers, I will merely link to the page with the awesome new Indiana Jones 4 LEGO sets.  But trust me, the risk of spoiling Indiana Jones and the Crystal of the Crystal Skull is well worth drooling over the LEGO.

EDIT (AB): I’ll just add a belated thanks to Jesus Diaz over at Gizmodo for sending us a link to his post this morning (when we were still having technical difficulties). This was the first thing I was going to blog when I got home from work, but Nathan beat me to it. ;-) Oh, and I’ll add the cool banner because it’s just too awesome.

Google goes LEGO

The search engine Google joins the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the LEGO brick:

Special thanks to Jail for grabbing a screenshot.

10185 Green Grocer, new addition to modular street [News]

It’s only a thumbnail, but it sure is pretty…

UPDATE: Green Grocer is now available from the LEGO Shop.

Kudos to Anthony Sava.

Peter Reid and Ed Diment Relaunch the Rocket Launcher

Remember this set? Well Flikerites Peter Reid (legoloverman) and Ed Diment (Legomonster) just revisited this Classic Space set and gave it some upgrades

Gallery, with more souped-up Classic Space goodness.

Prepare your drool-bucket, Flickrite Doctor Sinister has just posted some detailed pictures of Indiana Jones set 7622 Race for the Stolen Treasure. You can read his review on Eurobricks here.

EDIT (AB): Early reviews of other sets are starting to trickle in. Jonathan G. has more (via Klocki):

Those sanitation folks (of the future) are jolly friendly folks

Flickrite Lukas (Gladuis) presents the Futuramaesque GARBAGE [TRUCK] OF TEH FUTURZ.  I just love the look of this thing and its similarities to official LEGO set.

Best. Couch gag. Ever.

For the life of me, I still can’t get any video to embed, so I guess you’ll have to just click the link for now. D’oh!

EDIT (AB): Embedded. :)

Evolution of a Patrol Boat

Amazing how certain creations evolve.  First there was the minifig-scale Patrol Boat by Soren Roberts:

That inspired Chuck C. to make Chibi Patrol Boat:

That resulted in a recoloring by Chuck C. called the Iron Minnow:

Vehicles by misterzumbi and Tattun

I’m a sucker for great-looking town vehicles. This truck and classic car by Brickshelfers misterzumbi and Tattun are simply great. Thanks to Bruce from Classic-Castle (and VignetteBricks and MircoBricks) for pointing these out.

The Empire of LEGO Town: 10184 Town Plan [News]

Cafe Corner. Market Street. Cement Mixer. Recycle Truck. No longer is the Town theme reserved for endlessly repeated police stations, firehouses and construction vehicles. 2007 has been a truly awesome year for LEGO Town, and it only gets better. Feast your eyes on this set that can only be as a masterpiece:

10184 Town Plan

Check out the Classic-Castle thread for more discussion and pictures.

EDIT: More, high-quality pictures are now available on BrickJournal.com, including pictures of the interior (some pictured below).

For anyone who didn’t know, the man pictured is Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen, grandson of Ole Kirk Christiansen, the inventor of LEGO. 10184 Town Plan is a remake of 248 Town Plan Board. The boy seen in the original set is, in fact, Kjeld.

Brickfilmers in the Wall Street Journal

Brickfilmers and Brickfilms.com continues to get more exposure. The Wall Street Journal has just published an article about brickfilming and includes interviews from Michael Green, Joshua Leasure, Robinson Wood, David Pagano, Zach Macias, Lewis Chen and myself, Nathan Wells. Purists should be pleased by my single quote. ;)

The article.

In addition to the article, there are two videos. If you’re interested in seeing brickfilms by those interviewed, click their names. Each link leads back to their Brickfilms Directory of films.

Ribbit.

I’ve been really, really busy with school recently (and it’s not going to lighten up for a while), so my duties to TBB has suffered. However, the moment I saw this Frog Senate from Flikerite ~Gladius I knew I had to post it. Little frog chairs = win.
