Firas Abu-Jaber (Flickr) is perhaps best known for his larger-scale cars and trucks, but with this set of vehicles inspired by the buses and taxis you can still see on London streets, Firas shows that he’s a master of LEGO vehicles at any scale.

I set up an account on MOCpages.com for the first time a couple days ago, and I’m already encountering great builders I hadn’t been aware of before, starting with Spencer R. His “Coke Building” has tons of great architectural details, from the diner windows on the first floor to the top of the roof:

As far as I can tell, Ken Takeuchi (blog) single-handedly invented the microscale space genre nearly 10 years ago. His latest proves that he’s still got it:
The battleship Europa is nearly a meter (3 feet) long, and the interior is braced with LEGO Technic beams.

Located at “221B Bricker Street,” this scene by Tyler Clites beautifully evokes Victorian London as well as the Sherlock Holmes stories by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

Howl’s Moving Castle is easily my favorite Miyazaki film of the last 10 years or so. I never imagined the enormous castle could be shrunk down to microscale, but Horace Cheng does it with detail to spare.
Maybe I should’ve included this in the ApocaLEGO roundup…
Angus MacLane (Brickshelf) combines two really scary things into pure awesome — a clown-shaped tank and its clown pilot. The nose cannon is sheer genius.
By the way, those of you paying attention during the BURN-E credits probably noticed that Angus directed that great short feature on the Wall-E DVD. CinemaBlend.com did a great interview with Angus last month about BURN-E, so check it out!
