Danny Rice (Big_X) isn’t known to be prolific, but when he builds, something amazing always results. Check out this life-like scupture of an eagle, which I had passed off earlier as an actual model while browsing thumbnails.

Jarek‘s Maticore missile artillery tank looks just as good as any other well-crafted LEGO sci-fi tank, but the fact that it runs on motors controlled by a remote from the Power Functions accessories distinguishes this model as a top-of-the-class build. Now it just needs firing projectiles!
You can see another short clip of the tank in action here.
If you’ve been keeping up with LAML Radio, you know that James the host is presenting a podcast interview with a talented builder each day in August. Here’s an update of the featured builders in the past few days.
demdike takes on the coming Apocalypse with this nifty Mono-Wheel raiding bike. I love the details, especially the driver’s “goggles”…
Check out this cool animated Clone Wars comic, featuring the Republic Attack Gunship and Droid Gunship. Hilarity ensued!
Its been awhile since we’ve showcased any Steampunk. Check out this sweet monoplane by 2 Much Caffeine.
BisonFuehrer recently posted this award-winning creation. Though built back in ’97, it still has the ability to impress.
We have recently been contacted by John Baichtal of the Geekdad blog, on Wired. He is writing a book on our extremely addictive hobby and he wants you in it! Why you? Because you are charming, pretty, and you collect Lego.
He wants to profile as many adult builders as possible. While not everyone will make it into the book, he is planning on including a bunch of you crazy people. The more interesting the better, he said. And I know you folks are interesting. I’ve hung out with you at Cons, in chat rooms, and in forums. “Interesting” may be putting it mildly.
Anyway, are you in? If so, send the following info to John (brickbook@yahoo.com):
1) Headshot
2) Your name as you would like it to appear, your location and your age.
3) Answer as many of the following questions as you’d like:
What are you building?
Favorite set?
Favorite brick color?
Favorite genre?
What music do you listen to when building?
When’s your best building time?
If I left off a question you’re dying to answer, feel free to include it.
So there you are! Its your chance at those coveted 15 minutes of fame. Get cracking!

Reasonably Clever has announced their latest contest.
So get to building your Good Scientists, Bad Scientists, and especially those Mad Scientists!
Inspired by the recent debut of Forbidden Cove forums, Chris Malloy has posted an incredible redo of the classic pirate set Lagoon Lockup. Chris tried to use modern building techniques while remaining true to the original. I think he succeeded and I certainly hope this talented builder continues with more Pirate Overhauls.
edulyoung has built an incredibly detailed Model T. I think my favorite detail is the tires. Awesome.
