The most recent LEGO Universe Newsletter included links to some tantalizing concept art for the upcoming LEGO Universe game:

I’ve always felt that LEGO vignettes are like haiku (though maybe Bruce might have made that comparison first). Dbol actually combines the two with this great vignette of a gamer playing Guitar Hero with an unimpressed female onlooker:
Rock stars preen and strut
While they shout at the devil
But he’s just a geek.
This isn’t just an amusing vig — it’s got some interesting techniques, like the curtains and the wonderful large-screen TV.
Zach Clapsadle takes us back to long nights sitting in front of a flickering cathode ray tube with his “Launch Arcology” from SimCity.
Legohaulic presents a sculpture of Marcus Fenix from the Xbox 360 game Gears of War.
This creation has a lot going for it. In addition to being a great representation of a cool character from a cool game, Legohaulic uses pieces in some very interesting ways. Check out the tan minifig arms used for Marcus’ jaws, the tires and wheels on his arms, and the minifig capes around his hips.
In the wake of the Transformers movie (and games), we see quite a few lego iterations of the robots. Adrian Drake’s Blackout is certainly one of the better. It looks great in both helicopter mode and bot mode:

Read about it on Adrian’s brickfrenzy.com or comment it on his flickr stream.
UPDATE: Thanks to the magic of our contact form, we now know who built this and where to go for more pictures! I’ve updated the image, name, and links appropriately. Thanks David McNeely! Excellent work!
Here’s what builder David McNeely said on TechEBlog:
This is a custom guitar controller for the game Guitar Hero, modeled after a Gibson Explorer guitar, with an extra large scratch-plate for style. I gutted the real controller and put the electronic boards in the lego case, so it actually works, too.
Thanks for the tip, readers Peter and Paul!
My brother attends Comic-Con just about every year, and has told me all about the great costumes some people wear. “Boba Fetts roving in herds” sticks in my mind. Anyway, Kotaku has a great picture of two people dressed up as minifigs from LEGO Star Wars:
Great find, Kelly McKiernan!
Joystiq has broken the news that the rumored LEGO Indiana Jones video game has been confirmed. Watch the trailer right here on The Brothers Brick:
Thanks to reader David for the tip! (And check out the Official Web site.)
