The video game Destiny brought us quite a number of smooth and polished starfighters. Without copying any particular spaceship David Steeves did a great job of capturing all the main distinctive features of those fighters, complementing them with a couple of nice building techniques. I love how neat and solid his Disruptor XC2 looks, not to mention a not so ordinary choice of color for the cockpit windscreen.
Alec Doede (Alec_D) spent six months constructing an impressive 6 foot long rendition of a Venator-class Star Destroyer from Star Wars Battlefront II.
The dark gray details contrast very well with the light gray plating on the top and bottom of the model. These components are held together by a sturdy Technic skeleton, which the builder says is inspired by Jerac’s Imperial Star Destroyer. Check out the Arc Edge from Destiny, Bungie’s newest game, where it appears in the newest expansion, The Taken King. Nick Jensen, known for making super cool life-size LEGO replicas of video game guns, has switched it up a bit and brings us a full-scale melee weapon this time. It takes a good deal of LEGO engineering prowess to create something so long and thin without it warping when held, and Nick is happy to pose with his blade to show its strength and scale.
If you like Nick’s work, check out Creations for Charity, where you can buy one of your very own! Nick has donated his life-size Halo 2 Battle Rifle to be sold to raise money for the charity, which uses the funds to buy LEGO sets for under-privileged children for Christmas.
Thorsten Bonsch (Xenomurphy) spent over half a year and over 11,000 pieces to build this ritualistic portal known as the Dolmen from The Elder Scrolls Online. The most intriguing part of this diorama is the mosaic of runes surrounding the anchor centerpiece. Check out the detail shots to see some close-up action.
Readers under the age of 40 are probably looking at this creation by Flickr member jtheels right now and thinking either (a) “Nice spaceship, dude!”, or (b) “Worst Chrome logo ever”. In fact, this is a life size recreation of Simon, an electronic game that first appeared in 1978 and became ridiculously popular at the time. By a complete coincidence, we have a Simon here at The Brothers Brick, who is also ridiculously popular, and has various buttons that we enjoy pushing on a daily basis!
As Nintendo’s ink-em-up Splatoon continues to slowly take over the entire planet, we’re seeing more LEGO builds based on the hit game. Here is an inkling girl by Djordje, and the squid sisters Callie & Marie by Anton Sundström. I’m hoping someone steps up soon and builds an entire level!
Elliott Feldman spent several months to build a life-sized MIDA Multi-Tool Scout Rifle from the video game Destiny. The model is instantly recognizable to those who have played the game, but more interesting is the fact that the creation was scaled to one Lego piece. Find out what this part is in the description video on YouTube, which also showcases other features of the gun.
“Talented” and “prolific” make a great combination in a LEGO builder, and like many of the builders we feature here on The Brothers Brick, Finnish builder Eero Okkonen manages both. Following his fantastic LEGO characters from Nausicaä, Eero has tackled Palutena, Goddess of Light, from the Kid Icarus series of Nintendo games (also featured in Super Smash Bros.). Never shy of color, Eero incorporates numerous pearl-gold and light-blue trans-clear elements.

rongYIREN has been bringing us mecha and hardsuits with an organic feel for nearly as long as we’ve been blogging mecha. Rong’s latest is inspired by the 8-bit video game TwinBee, released on the original NES back in 1986, which those of you in the impoverished West couldn’t play until it was re-released in a DS compilation in 2007. I love the red cockpit on blue and gray legs.
Joseph Zawada built this jaw-dropping rendition of Hyrule Castle from The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. Joseph displayed it at Brickfair Virginia earlier this month, where it was a huge hit. After spending 2.5 years piecing it together, Joseph is rightly very proud of his masterpiece, which features great details such as the gradated water and nifty roof techniques.

Hello minions! Claptrap, everyone’s favorite/most hated robot from the Borderlands game is back again. We’ve featured some fantastic renditions of this iconic character before, from Medium scale to stupidly large-life scale, but I think this build by Davyn (Rifflestein) is my favorite version yet, in adorable minifig scale:
What most readers don’t know is I actually built a minifig scale version of Claptrap, and while there has been times people have based work off of my builds, it’s rare someone like Davyn comes along and basically goes: “I can do way better.”
Which he did!
What resulted was an incredibly well thought out build, using the lamp holder as the wheel, and minifig hands as the entire arm is just perfect. It was also really cool how he presented his build in the same unique cel shading of the game …
… I think I have to go build me a set of these now.
Kyler Wilson has built a series of wickedly cool minifig-scale arcade machines. I love the different genres you can pick out from the machine styles and the simple graphics on the screens. I think these would look fantastic in a future Modular set of an 80’s-style arcade.
