Vimal Patel’s (vmln8r) Lego monster truck does all that a monster truck can do, including jumping the shark, crashing through brick walls, and smashing cars.

Blade Roller
This police tank posted recently by Lord Dane on flickr packs all the right angles. It features an unusual arrangement of wheels, some clever details (that gun is so simple, but so nice) and a shape that’s sleek and chunky at the same time. I don’t know if I’d get the same Blade Runner vibe if the creation had a different name, but it’s certainly there for me now.
Happy Camper
Nathan Proudlove hits the road with this lovely, yellow Dodge A100. This smooth build and excellent use of parts are just what we except from Mr. Proudlove!
Short Horn APC – Engineering Variant
I love non-combatant variants of military vehicles. Thomas Coleman (Malravion) designed his Short Horn APC a while back, and recently posted this new version.
The shaping of the underlying vehicle is nice, with great angles and lovely light-gray highlights, but the crane, cargo net, and bulldozer blade add even more visual interest.
Thanks for the tip, Evan!
Lego Halo Ghost and Banshee by Legohaulic
Tyler shows that you don’t need a pre-designed piece to build a Lego Halo Banshee in minifigure scale. The Ghost and Covenant units are also quite nice.

10220 Volkswagen T1 Camper Van rolls out Oct 2011 [News]
UPDATE: 10220 Volkswagen T1 Camper Van is out now!
———
LEGO hippies everywhere are going to rejoice at the new LEGO Shop exclusive set revealed officially today, 10220 Volkswagen T1 Camper Van. At over 1,300 pieces and $100 $120, it’s a substantial set with an amazing amount of detail and what appears to be lots of interesting parts and construction techniques. (Can you tell I’m excited myself?)
I’m certain that most of our readers have already seen the lower-resolution images of the set from the second Collector’s Guide. The folks at LEGO have finally made their official announcement, though, and we’ve got high resolution photos and a video to show off.
The van has an engine in its engine compartment and a complete interior:
I must admit, when I saw the first images of this set online, I wasn’t impressed. I thought that it looked very boxy, and undetailed. Obviously, the subject matter is somewhat boxy, but seeing the high resolution photos, I see more than I expected. The real appeal of this set turns out to be the interior, though. It opens up in a variety of ways, and looks fun to explore.
Check out all the interior and exterior photos in the photoset on Flickr.
Here’s the official press release from LEGO:

4-wide microscale RC DAF truck runs on Power Functions
I never cease to be amazed by the ingenuity that builders use to incorporate Power Functions into their LEGO models — in ever-increasing miniaturization. Robert H. (Robiwan_Kenobi) manages to fit a PF motor, RC receiver, and battery box into this fully self-contained DAF truck.
Hard to believe? Take a close look at the cutaway in the photo above, and be sure to watch the video.
Thanks for the tip, Duane!

This 1935 Mercedes bus, by Klaus Dobisch, is incredibly well-designed. The streamlined look is perfect.
Tiger Moth and Cobra spaceships by vinn
Kurt Vinnedge (vinn) has posted a few great spaceships this week and these two are well worth sharing. The first is this A-8 SSIC Cobra, which features a very functional looking cockpit and sensor/weapons array as well as lovely angling up and back toward the engines.
The second, the ASSIN-9 Tiger Moth, is an equal beauty with similar livery, but its highlight for me is the way he’s built the engines in a ‘V’ going off to the sides from the cockpit. The most subtle, yet effective, feature is the little bits of red peaking out from under a radar dish covering the cockpit. Angry beady little red eyes.
If you want to see these in person, Kurt will be taking them to Brickfair near Washington, D.C.

LEGO Serenity from Firefly series
tbone_tbl just finished this rendition of the iconic ship “Serenity” from Firefly and it’s gorgeous! I love that show. Joss Whedon is my master.
