I never cease to be amazed by the ingenuity that builders use to incorporate Power Functions into their LEGO models — in ever-increasing miniaturization. Robert H. (Robiwan_Kenobi) manages to fit a PF motor, RC receiver, and battery box into this fully self-contained DAF truck.
Hard to believe? Take a close look at the cutaway in the photo above, and be sure to watch the video.
Thanks for the tip, Duane!
Actually, I believe the original idea for drive and steering comes from here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FHwlRl2_iO0
Still, the execution is most impressive.
Fantastic work. But to praise it as Power Functions when it incorporates a 10 year old micromotor is a little disingenuous.
(Of course, it is also a great demonstration why LEGO should introduce a micromotor sized PF motor…)
@searme – Actually, if you read the comments on Flickr, this builder wasn’t aware of Sariel’s truck.
@Jean C – “disingenuous” is rather harsh. We didn’t “praise” it as power functions. We “praised” it because the builder was able to fit a PF motor, reciever and battery box into such a small build. So he also used an older micromotor. You are implying that we are somehow being deceptive. What is up with that?
