Amazing how certain creations evolve. First there was the minifig-scale Patrol Boat by Soren Roberts:
That inspired Chuck C. to make Chibi Patrol Boat:
That resulted in a recoloring by Chuck C. called the Iron Minnow:
Azumu presents a batch of micro-military vehicles inspired by the Japan Self Defense Forces, including a Type-90 tank, Cobra helicopters, and Huey. (Via MicroBricks.)
Known as Noddy on Brickshelf, Karwik is synonymizing his name with realistic and stylish minifig bikes. His recent designs only reinforce his mastery of the subject. Check out Noddy’s Silver Shark and M72 Bobber backdropped by a well built gas station.
Vitus Barth has created an amazingly detailed and realistic urban industrial diorama a month ago. It’s better that this masterpiece gets blogged late than never, and who would’ve thought that this is only his first large LEGO diorama!
Kaitimar put this adorable tractor in his steampunk folder, but I swear I’ve seen this at a county fair…
Busy with BrickCon, I never got around to blogging Steven Marshall‘s wonderful red truck. Steven’s great camper seems like an excuse to blog both.
I love the post-processing on his camper photo above, and here’s the truck from last month:
I’m a sucker for great-looking town vehicles. This truck and classic car by Brickshelfers misterzumbi and Tattun are simply great. Thanks to Bruce from Classic-Castle (and VignetteBricks and MircoBricks) for pointing these out.
Cafe Corner. Market Street. Cement Mixer. Recycle Truck. No longer is the Town theme reserved for endlessly repeated police stations, firehouses and construction vehicles. 2007 has been a truly awesome year for LEGO Town, and it only gets better. Feast your eyes on this set that can only be as a masterpiece:
10184 Town Plan
Check out the Classic-Castle thread for more discussion and pictures.
EDIT: More, high-quality pictures are now available on BrickJournal.com, including pictures of the interior (some pictured below).
For anyone who didn’t know, the man pictured is Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen, grandson of Ole Kirk Christiansen, the inventor of LEGO. 10184 Town Plan is a remake of 248 Town Plan Board. The boy seen in the original set is, in fact, Kjeld.
Is your Cafe Corner a bit too laid back? Too staid? Too colorful? Then mechanize that bad boy!!! Izzo did.
Oh, and in his somewhat more normal version, the sidewalks move and it’s always raining:
