Towns in the world of LEGO have everything cities in the real world do — police stations, fire engines, trains, hairdressers and veterinarians. Check out all the beautiful buildings and vehicles we’ve featured here on The Brothers Brick.

Langeoog Island

Langeoog Island overview

Every so often I’m absolutely dumbfounded by a LEGO model. In this particular case German builders Andreas and Kai Böker do it by presenting what I consider to be the best non-urban train layout I’ve ever seen. While looking at the details is exciting enough the panorama shot is a must in order to absorb the true brilliance of this layout. I could spend hours looking at this.

If Alta-Vista has translated correctly this layout is presently on display on the actual island of Langeoog so if you’re in the neighbourhood check it out. And if any of our German readers can help me out with information I’d be forever grateful.

Smart Cars

LEGO Certified Professional Sean Kenney sculpts much accuracy into these Smart Car models. He has made five copies that are fully glued, which can be purchased for $475, which is quite a luxury to afford.

A stroll in the park

Noddy’s Park Miejski would make a great addition to a LEGO town. Here you can find plenty of good details including a sandbox, billboard, and a butterfly-shaped pond. Check out more details or see the gallery for some overview shots.

First images of 4999 Vestas Windmill set [News]

Brickshelf user RasRasRas has the first pictures of an upcoming large special set, 4999 Vestas Windmill. The motorized model towers over two feet and includes a nice setup of the base with minifigs and a small van. Take another look and you’ll see that the set includes green BURPs, oh my.

Bowling and Surfing with Nathan Proudlove

Nathan Proudlove‘s latest creation is an retro-chic bowling alley Googie architecture of the 1950s — complete with interior:

Ed Diment flies to France on his LEGO Concorde at Mach 2

With his British Airways Concorde, Ed Diment gives Ralph Savelsberg’s B-1B Lancer a run for its money as the largest fan-built LEGO airplane model:

Even at this enormous scale, Ed has built functionality into the model. The landing gear can be stored inside the fuselage and the nose goes up and down:

Here’s Ed proving that even such a huge LEGO model is still swooshable:

King of the lime road

Lime MAN-TGA

It’s been a while since I’d made anything I felt like blogging but after raiding (and seriously depleting) my lime stocks tonight I came up with a MAN-TGA truck that I’d be proud to drive around my imaginary LEGO city. As a sad example of my pedantic mind I’ll note that the side-tank took almost as long to design as the rest of the truck.

Well played indeed, FBTB

Mike “Count Blockula” Crowley has been drawing a great series of webcomics for From Bricks to Bothans.

In “Well Played” #4, the FBTB admin staff try to change LEGO history (click through for full size version):

Since we’re talking about LEGO webcomics, I’d also like to point readers to our (somewhat) new LEGO Webcomics link category in the side bar. Click, read, enjoy!

Dave and Stacy go to White Castle

Dave and Stacy Sterling are a pair of LEGO fans whose love for LEGO is only surpassed by their love for each other. With a Train layout that’s 12-feet by 15-feet, they prove the old adage that the couple who bricks together stays together.

Stacy’s latest creation is a LEGO version of her favorite burger joint, White Castle:

There’s lots of other great Train, Town, and Harry Potter LEGO creations on Dave and Stacy’s MOCPages and Brickshelf, including a corner bank by Dave and The Burrow from Harry Potter by Stacy:
