Peter Reid‘s Exo Suit is the latest smash hit in his Neo Classic-Space genre. It doesn’t take any pointers for one to see how ingeniously awesome this is. When it comes down to details on your next mechanical biped, Peter is the man to dish out the greebs.

NoVVember starts early when it’s Vic Viper month
Two-pronged starfighters are my favorite sort. NoVVember is already off to a good start with lots of great entries in the Vic Viper pool.
Let’s get this roundup started with Ronin VV by Fredo Houben (Fredoichi):
I can’t stop staring at the nose on Kuzma’s Mother, a chunky entry by Horace Cheng (Squinty Eyes):
Lukas goes skinnier with Soleil L4 Atmospheric:

Rebuild your first LEGO creation (but good!) and win free LEGO
Jordan Neves, Zach Clapsadle, and Lukas Winklerprins are hosting a very cool contest running through the end of November — the Rebuild Your First MOC, but Good! contest.
Peter Morris improves on a childhood favorite with “SF-109E Eagle”:
David “Xenobuzz” Simmons also gets in on the action with his “JL-79 Cargo Hauler” (named after July 1979, when David was 10):

Nnenn proves spaceships can still look fresh and unique
Before I was a brickfilmer, before I was a castler, I was a spacer. One of the reasons I eventually dropped out of building spaceships was it seemed all LEGO spaceships started to look the same, or all started to fit into fan-made subgenres. While this in itself is not a bad thing, it leaves many LEGO spaceships with a feeling of “sameness” to them. But every once in a while, someone comes along and builds a ship that is different from all other spaceships.
Ogre by Nnenn is just awesome. Have you ever seen and brown and orange ship comprised of three intersecting disks? I thought not.

You “two” control the action!
Keith Goldman has just announced the second annual “You Control the Action” contest with the theme of sci-fi horror! The rules are simple, build any sized creation in minifigure scale that delivers sci-fi horror action and you will have a chance to win fabulous prizes plus the all-so craved feeling of having controlled the action. You have until the end of this year to take part in this horrendously satisfying experience.
Braindead? Think “4 foot demonic SHIPS, gory vignettes, haunted MB modules, zombie siege dioramas, blood-trains, one eyed monsters, giant posessed super computers, undead steampunk, lycanthropic cyberpunk, punk-ass ghost-robots and serial killer-mecha.” Start controlling the action today!
Xip Xap
Adrian Florea returns to starships with the lovely Ziy-9 Xapuri. The swing-wing configuration is just dandy.
NoVVember
Nnenn and Peter Morris present a challenge for those of you that love Gradius and LEGO, or who just like pointy two pronged starships.
To quote them:
Novvember is Vic Viper month! nnenn and peterlmorris invite you to try your hand at building a MOC based on the classic starfighter from the Gradius series of video games.
Join the Flickr group to check out previous MOCs and concept art. There are a few guidelines, but they’re very loose. Creativity is king. Help us make Novvember the month of the Viper!
As a longtime lover of variations-on-a-theme I’m more than happy to support them in this quest. Go build a Vic Viper!
To boldly go...
Dan Rubin has taken a novel approach to spacecraft and produced a spaceship which is neither armed, nor human. His Emissary’s Ship uses unusual shapes and an atypical colour pallette to give an alien feel to this alien vessel. I’m particularly partial to the seamless change of symmetry from the tri-fold nose to the bi-fold rear.
Taking science to questionable bounds
Tyler Clites (Legohaulic) presents two unusual creations dealing with the deviant wonders of science. His newest work is a Frankensteined version of the Slave I from Star Wars (built for Reasonably Clever’s Spooky Star Wars Contest).
His other recent work is a mech owned by the twisted Dr. Kringe. You can now see a video clip of the builder discussing this creation on LAMLtv!

We make our kills under the sea
It’s been a while since I built anything I considered remotely worth blogging. I figured this one was fun enough to post as underwater attack craft seem a sadly neglected genre. The LB 13 “Bottlenose” was designed to fill a void (at least in my heart) and was inspired by Tim Zarki’s (spook‘s) SubApoc stuff.
They arrive...
Rubber bumpers on Jerrac’s Unikraft
Jarek (Jerrac) built his latest creation in only 4-5 hours, something which I cannot usually accomplish. He admits that it’s fast, but that doesn’t at all undermine the quality of this cool hovercraft. Check out the use of stretched-out inverted tire pieces for the bumpers on the model.
