LEGO Star Wars 75324 Dark Trooper Attack [Review]

The hit Disney+ show The Mandalorian closed out its second season with one whopper of a cameo, Luke Skywalker! Who swoops in at the last second to lay waste to an entire battalion of dark troopers. Up until now, there has only been one set to include the ominous and overpowered battle droid, the Imperial light cruiser. Well, LEGO fans of the series will soon get the chance to reenact the memorable corridor attack which closely mirrors the epic hallway scene from the end of Rogue One, without all the screams. LEGO Star Wars 75326 Boba Fett’s Throne Room from The Book of Boba Fett [Review]

Teased at the end of the previous season of The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett recently wrapped up its limited run on Disney+. While not all limited Star Wars TV series get the LEGO Star Wars treatment, LEGO recently announced two LEGO Star Wars sets from The Book of Boba Fett. The first sets are already starting to show up in the wild, and we recently picked up 75326 Boba Fett’s Throne Room from one of the large warehouse stores. Scheduled for release on March 1st, the set includes 732 pieces with 7 minifigs and will retail for US $99.99 | CAN $129.99 | UK £89.99 and is available for pre-order from LEGO.com now.

LEGO Star Wars Helmets: 75343 Dark Trooper, 75328 The Mandalorian, & 75327 Luke Skywalker (Red Five) [Review]

The Helmets Series has been a massive success since its introduction, capturing iconic characters across Star Wars, Marvel, and DC. While the troopers and TIE pilot may excite some, Boba Fett and Darth Vader proved to be the great lures for dual fans of LEGO and Star Wars, especially those who grew up with the original trilogy. After all, the set’s 18+ rating was definitely targeted at the more…tenured fans. Given how many helmets have permeated the slew of related works though, the designers have a wealth of inspiration for their next models. Much like the fans, the designers must have felt like something was missing. We got plenty of “bad guys” but where were the “hero” helmets? Well, two out of three new helmets recently announced by LEGO may debatably balance things out:

LEGO Art 21226: Art Project – Create Together: Team Building you might actually enjoy [Review]

There’s a lot of excitement about LEGO Art mosaics right now, thanks in part to recent reveals of some cool upcoming DC Comics licensed LEGO art. But what if you’re more into creating your own LEO images? Well, LEGO has you covered there, too. LEGO Art 21226: Art Project – Create Together is available now from the LEGO Shop Online for US $119.99 | CAN $149.99 | UK £104.99. This 4138 piece set is designed to be shared between up to nine people, and includes designs for 36 different 1-panel designs, and a 9-panel Classic Spaceman “maxi-image”. Sounds fun, right? LEGO BrickHeadz 40549 Demogorgon and Eleven – Get ready for some Stranger Things [Review]

Few characters sweep the world like “Eleven” from Stranger Things. Since its premiere in 2016, Millie Bobby Brown’s immensely quirky character has proven to be iconic in every season. Meanwhile, the feature creature of the first season inspired dread and fear in all of us. Hailing from the mysterious and grotesque “Upside Down” version of our own world, the “Demogorgon” made a perfect Eldritch beast for the beginning of the series. Despite the immediate success of the series, it’s surprising that LEGO took until the third season to release the award-winning set 75810 The Upside Down. With a summer 2022 release still possible for season 4, LEGO seems to be getting ahead of the hype with two new BrickHeadz. The LEGO BrickHeadz 40549 Demogorgon and Eleven will be available from the LEGO Shop (US $19.99 | CAN $24.99 | UK £17.99) on February 1.

LEGO BrickHeadz 40552 Buzz Lightyear & 40553 Woody and Bo Peep [Review]

In 1995, Pixar revolutionized the look of animated feature films with the release of Toy Story. In 2016, LEGO put a whole new spin on buildable figures with the release of the first BrickHeadz. Now, in 2022, these two aesthetic milestones are coming together to give us sets 40552 Buzz Lightyear & 40553 Woody and Bo Peep, These are BrickHeadz numbers 158, 159, and 160, respectively. Both sets will be available on February 1st. Buzz Lightyear is a 114-piece set available for US $9.99 | CAN $12.99 | UK £9.99. Woody and Bo Peep is a 296-piece set that will retail for US $19.99 | CAN $24.99 | UK £17.99. But how does the BrickHeadz format do at translating these iconic animated characters? LEGO Gift with Purchase 40532 Vintage Taxi – Let our friendly driver take you for a ride! [Review]

LEGO Ideas 21331 Sonic the Hedgehog – Green Hill Zone: The perfect set for a speed build [Review]

The LEGO Ideas line continued its rapid pace with the January 1st release of 21331 Sonic the Hedgehog – Green Hill Zone. This US $69.99 | CAN $89.99 | UK £59.99 has 1125 pieces, spanning key locations from the first level of the SEGA classic game, two brick-built monsters, the Eggman and his Eggmobile, and an updated version of Sonic in minifigure form. There are also a smattering of play features, customizable options, and Easter eggs. But is the final set a runaway success, or something you should run away from? LEGO Ideas 21332 The Globe: Cartography done right [Review]

The last time that LEGO crossed paths with cartography was with Art 31203: World Map. That huge set (11,695 pieces, the highest part count to date) met with a lot of divided reviews from the fan community. While it was clearly “art” was it really a “map”? Well, fans of geography can rest a little easier now, as 21332 The Globe has arrived. Or rather, it will arrive on February 1st for US $199.99 | CAN $269.99 | UK £174.99 | €199.99. This 2585 piece set is the latest in the LEGO Ideas theme, based on the concept submitted by fan designer Guillaume Roussel. LEGO Gift with Purchase 40528 LEGO Brand Retail Store – Take the whole store as a trophy [Review]

For ten years, LEGO has celebrated grand opening events with delightful models of LEGO brand stores for lucky customers with qualifying purchases. While the last few versions have been minifigure scale, the original from 2012 was a stylish microscale model. This year’s update seems to be celebrating the anniversary of this concept by revisiting the design of the original. Qualifying customers at new store celebrations will receive the 40528 LEGO Brand Retail Store as a gift with purchases over US $125 | UK £125. No word on the limit for our Canadian friends yet but this should be available for new store openings in select locations worldwide after January 1st, 2022. Still, this 402-piece modern design features a larger floor plan than its predecessor and plenty of sets to catch your eye within a tiny package. Let’s take a tour around the building, shall we?
