Even though Brent Waller‘s LEGO Ghostbusters Ecto-1 set was recently approved as the latest official CUUSOO set, you might be among those disappointed that the beautifully rendered Firehouse in Brent’s original CUUSOO project wasn’t also approved.
But fear not! Brent has just released the step-by-step instructions for the Ghostbusters HQ in LEGO Digital Designer (LDD) format.

If your creative well has run dry, TBB is here to help with a couple of projects to fill the hours before the factory whistle blows on Monday…or Tuesday if you live here in the States.
First up is the deceptively challenging How to build a K.E.W.B. by Jacob Unterreiner (4estFeller). The video is easy to follow, doesn’t require a Zhangian collection to build and it even has cool music that will make you feel like you’re in a hip clothing store. The only drawback is that Jacob doesn’t show you how to make his elegant stand to display your K.E.W.B., but we’ll let it slide.
For the advanced builder with LDD experience and a penchant for Sci-Fi, Chief Executive Overlord, Tanuki Corp. and wezra have you covered with a free instructional download of Red Spacecat’s USS Saratoga. I can assure you, constant reader, that the instructions are far easier to follow than my description.
To those of you who take the plunge, good luck! I have no doubt that the builders featured here would be happy to answer questions from you via Flickr if you get stuck. If you have your own D.I.Y. project to share with the readers, leave them in the comments.
It seems like there are new books about LEGO coming out constantly, both from famously “LEGO-friendly” publishing houses like No Starch Press and from many other publishers.

Many years (a decade?) ago a LEGO computer case did the rounds of the internet[1]. Sadly I can’t find any pictures of it, but I can assure you that Jim Devona’s (anoved) LEGO Rasberry pi case is at least 100 times smaller. And if you want one yourself, Jim has kindly put up instructions for it.
[1] There have been many since, but this particular one was the first I was aware of that found widespread fame on the internet. It was not pretty :)
George Panteleon (ZetoVince) invokes the spirit of Ferdinand Porsche for his recently revised Porsche 930. Being a community-minded guy, George has also thoughtfully posted instructions so that you…yes you…can make one for yourself. Stop dreamin’ and start drivin’, constant viewer.
Get them now though, because you never know when MOCpages will have another blackout.
Maybe it’s the moonlight, or the champagne talking, but I think we can squeeze in one more for the motorheads out there.
Max Yang (artifexcreation) created instructional videos with step by step photos on how to build your own Lego Angry Birds characters. The Red Bird is shown below. Check out the other videos and keep an eye out on his YouTube playlist for more to come.
I recently discovered two excellent models of the Tumbler and The Bat made by a Taiwanese Lego fan who goes by velociraptor. What interested me were the photo instructions he provided for both models, which you can view on Brickshelf (click on photo below) or Pockyland (Tumber and The Bat).
The master of Power Functions vehicles Peer Kreuger (mahjqa) posted instructions to build a RC tank chassis. You can see a video demonstration of the chassis on Youtube as well as an example of what can be built on the chassis.
If you enjoyed Martin Latta’s ARC-170 starfighter, you can now build your own thanks to the instructions posted by the builder. It’s rare that a builder takes the time to make instructions for models and shares them with the public. Even if you don’t plan on reconstructing the model, it can still be rewarding to peruse the building techniques used on a great model.
While you’ve been occupied with the discussion on crediting building techniques, Tyler (Legohaulic) has once again been making instructions for a model that I’m sure many would want to build, and they’re FREE. What a riot.
Andrew: Though I don’t object to Nannan blogging this, I have to admit that I’m very uncomfortable with the first photo in the pair above. We’ve had some productive discussions about modern military LEGO in the past, but perhaps it’s time to revisit that discussion in a future editorial.
Tyler Clites (Legohaulic) has made instructions for his popular 1931 Ford Pickup. For once, the answer to the question “I can has instrucshuns?” is:
“Can has.”
