This pastoral farm scene by Jonatan Svenning packs a lot of great details into a small space. One of my favorite features is the simple roof, which uses 2×4 tiles connected on the underside and resting on the sloped wall with no apparent stud connection.
The narrow door and the textured walls provide a cozy vibe, while the low rock wall looks sturdy and weather-worn. I also love the multiple colors for both the landscaping and the path, that go so well together.
Who needs an island in the sea when you can have your own private enclave in the sky? This splendid floating homestead was built by -Littlejohn and his brother Isaac for InnovaLUG’s collaborative display at Brickworld. While this size of the islands may be small, the builders packed a lot of detail into each one. I love the idea of subsistence farming above the clouds, which is made even more exciting through the use of bright and cheery colors. The little house completes the scene quite nicely; it looks so quaint and inviting that I wouldn’t mind living there!
Steam traction engines first appeared on farms in the 1850s, and they were massive vehicles used for everything from hauling implements to powering belt-driven equipment. Use of these vehicles declined with the rise of the internal combustion engine, but their legacy lives on in the form of modern farm tractors. Thanks to builders like Bricked1980, their legacy also lives on in LEGO form! Bricked1980 does a really good job of capturing the look and feel of the vehicle, along with providing a rendered background that feels like an agricultural field. The color scheme is pleasing to the eye, consisting of a black boiler, green body and brass accents. Bright red wheels add a splash excitement. It’s worth noting that Bricked1980’s model is a digital render and, as such, it features some parts in non-production colors. However, it presents a sharp looking image with an equally great looking model.
If you find yourself driving through German farmland, you just might find one these Fendt 500 tractors working the fields. Stefan brings us a faithful looking brick-built version, complete with the iconic green and black livery. He has also gone above and beyond to build a series of implements for the tractor, such as forest blade for the front….

Cole Blaq hasn’t treated us with his new wonderful designs since the middle of the last year. Finally, he is back starting the new building season with an awesome Town-themed model of Claas Xerion. The tractor has a lot in common with the new LEGO City 60181 Forest Tractor set, but unlike the official model it has a rotating cabin. Make sure to check out the instructions for this cool creation; it won’t take you many pieces to build one for your own LEGO farm!

In the future when humans have colonized other planets, they still have to get their bacon somehow. Pangeran Panda builds a solution in his meat processing factory where livestock is directly processed into consumable goods.
The transparent walls let you see the motorized conveyor belts in action, but wait, something isn’t quite right. Take a look at the video and see if you get a laugh out of the builder’s sense of humor.
Paul Hetherington thinks that the average farm animal would want to cruise around the country roads, partying in a dilapidated, old, rotten Model T salvaged from the barn. Initially Paul set out to only construct the splendid animal heads and started with the googly eyed horse’s head. In the end, Party Animals took Paul five weeks to build. Once he had an idea of the animals’ size, this set the scale for the vehicle. Creating the Model T using a combination of lovely dark greens and rustic colours, Paul has even thought to include bird droppings.

Speedyhead has beautifully captured what was easily the most heart-wrenching scene from season 2 of The Walking Dead. I can still recall the sense of dread, as the camera focuses on the small gap in the barn door, and Sophia emerges from the darkness.
The barn itself is wonderfully detailed and weathered. While the use of so many different grass elements along the edge of the barn conveys a sense of managed chaos as nature starts to reclaim civilization.
There are so many other details worth mentioning in this LEGO creation, besides the barn itself. The use of “stalks” of Technic connectors to form the gnarled tree, the wire fence, and the tractor are also great touches. I also love the use of some fairly old wheel rims for the flatbed cart.
Some LEGO builders have no tolerance for any creation less than perfect. Kosmas Santosa from Indonesia is among those people who keep bricking flawless models. The latest addition to his portfolio is just a simple tractor, but he manages to present it in a very delicate manner. His choice of pastel colors is accompanied by a simple but effective topography and his photographing skills shows off the tractor by keeping the background out of focus. The result is minimalistic perfection.

Chris Maddison brings you a slice of Iowa farm life for your Saturday viewing pleasure replete with tractor, microscale barn, trees and a very clever furrowed field. Although the rolling hills in lime and sand-green are very simple in construction, they really add depth and style to this forced perspective scene. The sexy-time tractor is a fine example of the species, complete with rototiller and detailed engine. Chris has only been back from his dark-age for about a year now but he sure is making up for lost time.
Like many of us, Peter Blackert (lego911) spends too much time in gridlock where the mind eventually wanders to our favorite hobby. In Peter’s own words: “One saving grace of terrible traffic, is that it gives me more time to look longingly at the lovely white-and-lime tractors and harvesters at the local CLAAS distribution centre, next to the highway.” The official LEGO set #7636 from 2009 was also an inspiration for the massive harvester. Peter has also thoughtfully included some variants depending on what kind of crop you need harvested.
I only wish I could translate an object or location on my daily commute, but the Hustler Club and the Ocean-Spray factory don’t really cut it for me.
