My birthday falls in May and this year was particularly special thanks to my good friend Michael, who asked me what I wanted for my birthday. We’ve taken to crafting each other’s gifts lately and he recently started building BrickHeadz as Capn Brickard on Instagram. With this in mind, I thought it would be awesome to have BrickHeadz for one of my favorite science fiction series, Stargate: SG-1. He gladly accepted the task and I eagerly awaited the results. So, in addition to becoming a contributor for The Brothers Brick in May, I was gifted these designs that I immediately wanted to share with TBB’s readers! Since they’re particularly special to me and I know the builder personally and could get some behind-the-scenes info, I want to go into a little more detail than our typical articles. LEGO Ninjago Legacy 40490: Ninjago 10 BrickHeadz [Review]: A purchase with purchase to purchase, but only in person

Ninjago fans have been celebrating the ten year anniversary of the theme, and LEGO is helping out with a new three-pack of BrickHeadz. Golden Lloyd, Nya Samurai X, and the Firstbourne Dragon all get the cubist treatment in Ninjago Legacy 40490: Ninjago 10 BrickHeadz . This 406 part set will be available from June 1 – June 30th, 2021 (or while supplies last) at LEGO stores only for US $10 | CAN $15 | UK £10 with qualifying US $85 | CAN $110 | UK £85 Ninjago purchases. Yes, this isn’t a “gift with purchase,” but rather a “purchase with purchase” offer. Come along as we take an early look at these three Ninjago icons!

LEGO Disney BrickHeadz 40476 Daisy Duck and 40477 Scrooge McDuck, Huey, Dewey & Louie [Review]

Ever since LEGO first introduced Mickey and Minnie Mouse back in 2018, and followed up in 2020 with Goofy, Pluto, and Donald Duck, fans of these classic Disney characters may have noticed some missing characters; namely a few other ducks from the line-up. Well, the wait is now over, as LEGO is coming out with four new BrickHeadz in two sets: Daisy Duck (#126), and Donald’s Uncle Scrooge (#127), and his nephews Huey, Dewey, and Louie (#128-130). We received advance copies of the feathered family and we’re breaking it all down, and building them up to give you the scoop.

Both sets will be available on June 1st. 40476 Daisy Duck includes 110 pieces and is estimated to cost US $9.99 | CAN $TBD | UK £TBD while 40477 Scrooge McDuck, Huey, Dewey & Louie includes 340 pieces and is estimated to cost US $19.99 | CAN $TBD | UK £TBD.

LEGO BrickHeadz Minions: 40420 Gru and 40421 Belle Bottom [Review]

Minions 2: The Rise Of Gru, the sequel to the 2015 film Minions, and the fifth film in the Despicable Me franchise was originally scheduled to premiere on July 3rd, 2020. But like so many other movie and video game releases in recent years, it has been delayed, and delayed again. Now slated for July 2022. So while you may be bummed to have to wait another 15 months to see the movie, you can still get a fix of sorts with these two additions to the LEGO BrickHeadz line. LEGO BrickHeadz Minions 40420 Gru, Stuart & Otto includes 244 pieces, is available now on LEGO.com for US $19.99 | CAN $24.99 | UK £17.99; 40421 Belle Bottom, Kevin & Bob includes 309 pieces, and is available on LEGO.com for US $19.99 | CAN $24.99 | UK £17.99.

First look at new LEGO Disney BrickHeadz sets 40476 & 40477 with Scrooge McDuck, Daisy Duck and more [News]

LEGO has uploaded images of two new Disney BrickHeadz sets, 40477 Scrooge McDuck, Huey, Dewey & Louie, and 40476 Daisy Duck. The new sets will be part of the ongoing Mickey Mouse & Friends subtheme, following last year’s BrickHeadz of Donald, Goofy, and Pluto. There’s no word yet on the details such as release day, part count, or pricing, though it’s likely the standalone Daisy Duck will retail for $9.99, while the Scrooge & nephews set will be $19.99. Many sets are slated for a June 1 release, so it’s likely these will be among them.

LEGO BrickHeadz Harry Potter 40495: Harry, Hermione, Ron and Hagrid [Review]

We have already had BrickHeadz of Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Hagrid all at the standard size, but LEGO has decided that we didn’t have enough Harry Potter. So they came out with this new version of Hagrid with the three most famous first years in Hogwarts’ recent history. What might not be clear at first glance is that these kids are not built on the 4×4 main character standard but rather on the smaller 3×3 buddy standard. This helps to maintain the proper scale when they gather around the lovable groundskeeper, Rubeus Hagrid. The set includes 466 pieces and will be available on June 1, 2021. LEGO has not released pricing information at the time of writing this review, but based on previous BrickHeadz sets with multiple characters, I would guess that the set will be around $24.99 US.

LEGO BrickHeadz Harry Potter 40496: Voldemort, Nagini and Bellatrix [Review]

If you are a fan of the Harry Potter franchise and a collector of BrickHeadz, you might be scratching your head at the one-sided line-up released so far, which includes the three heroes of the story, along with Dumbledore, Hagrid, Buckbeak, and Newt, but only one villain so far, Gellert Grindelwald. Well, that is about to change. With the upcoming release of a brand new batch of bad guys and girls. That’s right, the most feared villain in history, He Who Must Not Be Named himself, Lord Voldemort, is finally joining the ranks of BrickHeadz along with his snake Nagini and Bellatrix Lestrange. LEGO BrickHeadz Harry Potter 40496 Voldemort, Nagini, and Bellatrix includes 344 pieces and will be available starting June 1, 2021. LEGO has not released a price or parts count at the time of this review, but based on previous multi-character sets, I’m guessing it will be around $24.99 US.

The BrickHeadz theme has continued to branch out over the years to bring us everything from heroes and villains of the Marvel and DC universe to holiday characters, and most recently, a new sub-theme Pets. Today we’re taking a look at what I hope to see many more of, wild animal parents and their babies, LEGO BrickHeadz 40466 the Panda, and two cubs. The 249 piece set retails for  US$19.99 | CAN $24.99 | UK £17.99

LEGO BrickHeadz 40441 Pets Shorthair cat and Kitten [Review]

LEGO recently introduced a new sub-theme to the BrickHeadz line, Pets, and so far, there have been 4 sets released… A German Shepherd and puppy, A budgie and chick, and a pair of goldfish. Today we’re taking a look at the shorthair cat (number 120) and kitten (121), and they are available on lego.com and LEGO retail stores for $14.99 US (CAN $19.99 | UK £13.49),

LEGO BrickHeadz Pets 40440 German Shepherd and Puppy [Review]

If you are a pet owner and a LEGO fan, you might have attempted to build a BrickHeadz style version of your pet using parts from the LEGO Go Brick Me set, hoping that one day, LEGO might come out with official sets. Well, your wait is over… especially if you happen to be the owner of a German Shepherd. LEGO recently released a new sub-theme of BrickHeadz called Pets, and LEGO BrickHeadz Pets 40440 German Shepherd and puppy is the first in the series, with the adult dog being number 118 in the BrickHeadz lineup and the puppy being number 119. With 247 pieces, the set retails for US $14.99 | CAN $19.99 | UK £13.49 and is available now.

LEGO BrickHeadz Pets: 40442 Goldfish and 40443 Budgie [Review]

Two new sets in the Pets subtheme are here to grow the BrickHeadz family, following the recent BrickHeadz dog and cat sets. 40442 Goldfish (US $14.99 | CAN $19.99 | UK £13.49) and 40443 Budgie (US $14.99 | CAN $19.99 | UK £13.49) will be available starting March 1. Adorable to look at and fun to build, these creatures can either be displayed on a shelf as colorful decor pieces or swooshed around the room, and whether that’s under the water or in the sky is up to your imagination. LEGO BrickHeadz, Creator, & Iconic sets revealed for 2021 [News]

LEGO has revealed a number of new sets today from the BrickHeadz, Creator, and Iconic lineups, ranging from buildable roses to a yellow taxi. The sets include two kits with buildable flowers that expand on the recently announced LEGO Botanical Collection 10282 Flower Bouquet, though unlike those flagship sets these don’t bear the new 18+ adult-focused black packaging, instead wearing LEGO’s generic “Iconic” packaging. Another pair of sets brings two of the most widely recognized for-hire vehicles, with a classic yellow New York City taxi and a Tuk Tuk, a small auto rickshaw widely used throughout the world, and especially popular in India and Southeast Asia. Several BrickHeadz also join the fray, with duos of a Dog & Puppy and Cat & Kitten, along with a trio of adorable Pandas for Chinese New Year. And finally, rounding out the crowd is a buildable teddy bear with hearts for Valentine’s Day. All of the new sets will be available starting January 1.
