…and it’s rusty! Lino is good at cars. Usually they are all shiny and tricked out. This one…isn’t. And that just might make it even better….

Flesh and bones
Not quite as elaborate as the full anatomy of a minifig, this brick-built version by Billy McGill (Mt.Dew Monkey) is equally impressive.

Anyone hear that Wump in the Woods?
Vintage Photo of Yoda discovered!
This rare vintage photo shows Yoda during his brief stint with the French Foreign Legion. Prior to hiding away on Dagobah, Yoda thought that the deserts of Algeria might be a good place to lose himself.
The hot weather, ill-fitting clothes, and hazing by the other soldiers, made him decide to explore other options. He also wasn’t very good at taking orders….
Danger Mouse, the greatest secret agent in the world!
Tranquility Base creator Louise Dade (Bladewood) has posted a Fabuland Danger Mouse, with Penfold and DM’s flying car.
The Fabuland figures were customized by Louise’s mom Hilary. (Hat-tip to reader Tim.)
Backward and upside-down
Jamie Spencer (Morgan19) sure knows how to combine minifigs and custom accessories in interesting — and creepy! — ways.
From Yoda’s head on backward to Catwoman cowls for arms, Jamie’s minifigs are full of surprises.

LEGO Space 2009 teaser site launches; can LEGO sets be far behind? [News]
The new LEGO Space theme has been officially launched on LEGO.com. We don’t normally blog something quite this information-free (heh heh), but I’m personally rather excited by this new theme, and it’s clear many of you out there who sent us the link feel the same.

Shipwrecked with Jalkow
Jalkow trots out this cute scene complete with a poor shipwreck victim. I’m lovin’ all the details packed into this small space. Great scene!
Mega-micro mecha crane – and it’s green!
The recent spate of unarmed mecha is a result of the Mecha Hub Civilian Mecha Contest on Flickr. Kyle Vrieze (bermudafreze) has built a pair of my favorites.
Micro mecha aren’t that unusual, but placing the mecha on a microscale background is fairly unique:
This submersible mecha has realistic, utilitarian arms:
