You’d probably expect a lot of the posts on a LEGO website like The Brothers Brick to be about LEGO, and you’d be right. If you’re browsing this page, you might want to consider narrowing what you’re looking for by checking out categories like “Space” and “Castle.” We’re sure there’s something here that’ll fascinate and amaze you.

Jar Jar better watch his back!

It would appear that Brian Kescenovitz (mondayn00dle) has similar feelings on Battle Droids and Jar Jar Binks that I do. Good to see that they will get their just deserts!

Roger roger, mother f*#@&%...

It also must be noted that the alien is constructed with some unique top notch techniques!

Updates from Creations for Charity

Creations for Charity has raised almost $4,000 so far and there’s still one month left in the fundraiser. Take a look at some of the latest creations added to the store, which are also bloggable in their own right.

Hans Dendauw‘s Jabberwocky from Alice in Wonderland strikes a fearsome pose, but deep inside it just wants a loving new home.

This stagecoach and chariot by our fellow blogger Matija are detailed and visually appealing for their small size. You can see them featured in these two little scenes.

Due to popular demand, Paul Janowski and Republic Customs has contributed another set of chrome Iron Man and Silver Surfer in addition to new Steel and Colossus minifigs.

Chrome Super Heros

Lastly, Sean and Steph Mayo once again astounds me with their creative parts use in another brilliant microscale scene.

If you don’t see what you’re looking for, head over to Creations for Charity’s campaign on Indiegogo to get a commissioned creation or pick up a limited edition gift. If you’re not familiar with Indiegogo, it’s a crowd funding platform similar to Kickstarter but encompasses charities. Your help is much needed and appreciated!

Little Red Corvette

I had to blog this little sports car by “de-marco” to make sure enough people see his cleverness. Especially on the bonnet and indented doors. Magnificent. And it’s the correct 5-wide ;)

Now that is a whole lotta Ma.K!

Ok, last post I promise…

Pascal just posted the final poster of all the Ma.Ktoberfest entries. Huge thanks to him for the amount of effort doing all that editting!

So what is my opinion on this past month? One word, “WOW!”

When I first planned on organizing the build challenge, I figured there would be a decent amount of participation, but the sheer number of builds and the quality thereof absolutely exceeded all expectations. It really was neat to sit back and watch so many builders get in on the fun. So gigantic thank you to all that participated, it was an absolute blast!

The 10th Annual Colossal Castle Contest has begun!

The Colossal Castle Contest is one of the longest running Lego fan contests in history, if not the longest, and it is celebrating its tenth year! There are a plethora of prizes, including vintage sets, books from No Starch Press and Skyhorse Publishing, as well as custom products from altBricks, BrickArms and BrickWarriors.

The categories cover a wide range of subjects, sizes and building styles. If you have never entered before, get over to Classic Castle, get registered and get BUILDING!

Holy Mosaic, Batman!

Here is a little mosiac that I worked up this week. As some of our readers know, I’ve been dabbling in mosaics for the last year. This one is based on the 60’s version of the Batman logo as I am planning to attend Emerald City Comic Con next year and Adam West will be there. The plan is to have him sign it. Wish me luck!

The history of zombies illustrated in Lego

If you’re into Lego zombies, then check out Bricks of the Dead. It’s a webcomic and blog dedicated to zombifying the brick. For Halloween they cooked up a nice article. Take a look at Zombies: An Illustrated History.

Ma.Ktoberfest Chancellor Pascal

Well Ma.Ktoberfest wraps up today, what a month it has been. Stay tuned for my final announcement, but in the meantime I want to make mention of one builder in particular who most certainly stepped up to the plate. Keep in mind he has done all of this while at the same time editing everyone else’s contributions for the final poster…

Not since Nnenn’s epic Novvember performance, have I seen a contribution to a monthly build challenge on par with what Pascal (paukaru76) did this Ma.Ktoberfest. Each day of the month he posted a different model, and his ability to capture the aesthetic with his unique minimalist style is just beyond awesome. The creativity just makes me so happy :)

My MaKtoberfest 2012

So a HUGE thanks to you buddy! You kept producing brilliant stuff the entire month, and kept us all entertained!

Please be sure to click through his photostream if you haven’t already, there is some absolutely glorious stuff in there. Here are a few of my favourites:

This LEGO Hobbit Halloween will scare the fur right off the top of your feet

The guys over at BrotherhoodWorkshop are getting into the Halloween spirit by sharing another installment of their hilarious Lord of the Rings and Hobbit short films, all animated in LEGO. It should come as no surprise that a certain pair of Hobbits would play a few pranks on Halloween, but just wait ’till the end…

As always, BrotherhoodWorkshop’s stop-motion animation is smooth, with delightfully funny writing and excellent parody voice acting for each of the characters.

Honda Repsol CBR1000RR racing bike by Oryx Chen

The Honda CBR1000RR is a gorgeous motorbike, especially in Repsol racing colors. Oryx Chen does this lovely orange machine justice with a LEGO rendition that looks like it’s ready to take to the track.
