You’d probably expect a lot of the posts on a LEGO website like The Brothers Brick to be about LEGO, and you’d be right. If you’re browsing this page, you might want to consider narrowing what you’re looking for by checking out categories like “Space” and “Castle.” We’re sure there’s something here that’ll fascinate and amaze you.

Nerdvember 2014

Looking for inspiration to build? Want to build BrickNerd‘s Nerdly in fantastical, horrific, or otherwise normal situations? BrickNerd is running Nerdvember 2014, giving you a chance to win some excellent prizes.

I wanted to show you some of my favorites so far:

NerdVember : Fiesta

Spider Nerdly by Gregory Coquelz

Nerdly wears many hats, apparently. And costumes.

Triumph Scrambler Motorcycle

It’s been awhile seen we seen a bike here, so I was thrilled when Stephan Jonsson built this wonderful motorcycle:

Scrambler01

The Triumph Scrambler is combination of off road dirt bike and cruiser, with the beefed up suspensions and tyres. The build is accurate to the source material and is recreated fantastically with bricks. I loved how he’s able to shape body of the motorcycle, while adding just the right amount of details in the engine block. But what really impressed me is that the shell and seat can be removed to reveal the sweet underbody:

LEGO Philae built in tribute to historic comet landing

Philae

Today, shortly after 1600 GMT, a historic event took place. The European Space Agency successfully landed a spacecraft on a comet. “We are there. We are sitting on the surface. Philae is talking to us, we are on the comet”, celebrated Stephan Ulamec, Philae lander manager. Víctor Martínez Nouvilas also celebrated the event by recreating the historic moment of touchdown. There were moments of uncertainty as it was not apparent if Philae’s harpoons had managed to anchor the spacecraft in place, but it appears that all is well. This marks an important milestone in the mission as the spacecraft was launched over a decade ago. Quite an exciting day! It will be fascinating to find out what kind of information Philae will send back to us as it explores it’s new home.

LEGO BR55 Battle Rifle from Halo 2 does everything! “Pew Pew” not included.

Halo 2 Anniversary BR55 Battle Rifle

Nick Jensen is well known for his recreations of iconic science fiction weaponry. His latest definitely doesn’t disappoint! This gun features a see-through scope, working trigger, removable magazine and a sliding charge handle. So this isn’t just a beauty queen, meant to grace a wall or shelf. It is meant to be played with! Nicely done, Nick, nicely done.

LEGO McLaren MP4-12C

MP4-12C

This McLaren 12C, by FLAVIO, is a thing of beauty. The lines, the functionality, the details…this build is well-done in all aspects. You have to check out all the photos and see the details for yourself. But what I really love is the presentation in this picture. It shows off the sexy lines so well.

A Shady Deal

(Goh 9) A Shady Deal

Vitreolum has some shenanigans going on in the shade of this wonderful, Middle-Eastern inspired fortress. I especially like the use of plate hinges to texture the walls and using orc swords to replicate the hinges on the door is brilliant. I also have to comment on his fig posing. Without those three figs, this build would be nice but dead. The simple placement of the guard looking over shoulder and the “traders” on the ground below really makes this come alive.

Lest we forget

Several members of the LEGO fan community have built tributes to the Veterans of their Armed Forces and we would like to take a moment to recognize those veterans today. While today is set aside as the official day that many nations thank the men and women who have served, The Brothers Brick would like to thank all of our readers and their families who have sacrificed to serve their countries. Thank you for your service. Your sacrifice cannot be repaid.

Our own Simon Liu has built a tribute with poppies at two different scales.

Lest We Forget.

Nick Sweetman has built a lovely cascade of poppies in honor of Armistice Day.

We Will Remember Them

Tyler Sky has built a tribute featuring Snoopy and Woodstock. For those who don’t know, Charles Schulz was a veteran and regularly honored Veteran’s Day and Armistice Day in his Peanuts comic strip. Quite a touching tribute.

Lest We Forget

Out of respect for those who have served, please keep political debate out of the comments. Comments trolling or bashing those of differing political persuasions will be deleted. This is meant to be a time of remembrance and respect. Please honor that.

BioShock’s Rapture in Microscale

Pascal dove deep and recreated the iconic underwater city of Rapture from BioShock. He really did a great job capturing the stark, menacing look of the city at the bottom of the sea. Very nicely done, Pascal!

Baba Yaga and her house roam the countryside once again!

David Hensel has created an incredible version of Baba Yaga and her walking house. The figure actually startled me last night. I refreshed my screen and she popped up in my face! Not what I was expecting at all. Anyway, I love her and her house. The house would be a great build on its own but being suspended on the spindly chicken legs is even better. A great figure and a great build!

Mining: Your Own Business in Space

Check out this cool microscale space mining operation by Outer Rim Emperor. He says it’s his first model in the Classic Space theme, and I think he’s nailed it. The big Octan tank is a nice, touch, too, though I’m not quite sure where Octan fits into LEGO’s chronology in relation to Classic Space.

TX Supernova – A Symphony in Blades

TX Supernova - Vic Viper

This drop-dead gorgeous example of a Vic Viper is full of win. Nick V. has orchestrated something quite nice here. I love the color scheme and how the details pop from the center section. But most of all I love the use of the various blades all over this ship. It’s probably the ‘Castle’ guy in me, but it really rocks!
