LEGO Ideas Minifigure Vending Machine brings a treasure trove of nostalgia and 16 minifigs

Minifigure fans are in for a treat when LEGO Ideas 21358 Minifigure Vending Machine arrives this June. LEGO pulled out all the stops in celebrating popular themes from the past, including Fabuland, Paradisa, Pirate, Classic Space, and of course, Castle. Even the set’s fan designer gets the minifig treatment! The set contains 16 minifigures in total, some of which are duplicates, but I doubt many will mind as they’re the ones fans could vote on and are likely to be the most popular figures: Classic spacemen in teal and gold, and perhaps most excitingly, two new Castle Factions –  Kraken and Griffon factions. Of course you’re not just getting 16 figures with the set. Most of the 1,343 parts go towards the fully-functional retro vending machine in cherry red. It’s a very fancy Kraken Knight delivery device that no doubt many LEGO fans will have fun filling with custom gachapon prizes. LEGO Icons 21358 Minifigure Vending Machine will be available early to LEGO Insiders on June 1 and to everyone else from June 6 for US $179.99 | CAN $219.99 | UK £149.99.

And it’s called, well, 60473 The City Tower! 1,941 pieces make up a skate ramp, construction site, metro, and even a spaceship launch pad. LEGO Icons 10352 The Simpsons Krusty Burger – Worth the price tag? [Review]

Way back in 2014, LEGO struck up a partnership and ventured into the TV city of Springfield. The Simpsons made their LEGO debut with 71006 The Simpsons House, which was quickly followed the next year with the 71016 Kwik-E-Mart. Meanwhile, there were two Collectible Minifigure Series. And then the theme fell dormant. Now, after a decade-long gap, we are getting the newest addition to the line, under the Icons banner. LEGO Icons 10352 The Simpsons: Krusty Burger enters the scene as the next large set in the series, though smaller than the others. Weighing in at 1635 pieces, and including 7 minifigures, it will retail for US $209.99 | CAN $259.99 | UK £179.99. Join us for lunch as we tour the set, which will be available to LEGO Insiders on June 1 and to all on June 4th.

Disclaimer: Ironically, I live mere minutes from the town that gave the show its namesake, and my father was also teasingly gifted Mr. Burns memorabilia by his employees when I was a kid, but I have never personally watched the show in my life. I’m simply reviewing the set from a standpoint of a LEGO fan, and not necessarily a Simpsons fan, so please forgive me if I miss or mistake a reference.

Order up another Springfield institution with LEGO Icons 10352 The Simpsons: Krusty Burger

LEGO is returning to Springfield and the world of The Simpsons and this time the toymaker is down to clown. LEGO Icons 10352 The Simpsons: Krusty Burger lets fans recreate the unhealthiest restaurant in the world. The 1,635 piece set features detailed interiors, Homer’s clown car, and seven minifigures, including the debuts of Sideshow Bob, Officer Lou, and Squeaky-Voiced Teen, and a new version of Krusty as a farmer, fresh from tending to contaminated soybeans and mad cows. The set will be available to LEGO Insiders on June 1, and to all on June 4 for US $209.99 | CAN $259.99 | UK £179.99. Rumor has it that Krusty himself will spit in every 50th box. (I like those odds!) No joke, during the first week, Insiders will also receive a free gift purchase: The Simpsons: Living Room, perfect for recreating your favorite couch gags.

LEGO lets loose Mario Kart Blue Shell as Insiders reward, redeemable from May 15

As Mario Kart players know, when there’s a Spiny Shell (aka “Blue Shell”) headed your way, you’re in for a world of trouble. But not this one, homing in on LEGO Insiders. Just in time to accompany the Mario Kart Standard Kart display set, LEGO is adding a new set to the Insiders Reward page: LEGO Mario Kart 40787 Spiny Shell. Containing 234 pieces, the set can be redeemed for 2,500 Insider Points and added to any order starting on May 15. (Not an insider? Read about the free program here.) Aside from being a fun companion to the next big Mario Kart set, the Blue Spiny Shell packs an excellent mix of parts, including previously rare blue curved slopes and white tubes. Just be careful handling this new set around your completed Karts, as if it’s anything like the video game version, it’ll have them in pieces faster than a brick separator.

LEGO Art 31216 Keith Haring – Dancing Figures – Brick up and dance with me [Review]

LEGO’s Art line has proven a popular way to engage with iconic artwork, with sets that translate brushstrokes into bricks that you can hang on your wall. The newest addition to the line, LEGO Art 31216 Keith Haring – Dancing Figures, shakes up the formula with a playful interpretation of the pop artist’s work that invites sharing the build experience with others. And instead of one finished work, you get 5 pieces that you can display your own way. For this review, I’ll be taking LEGO’s suggestion and inviting my family to join in for a social build experience. If you have others to share the build with, I recommend that you try this as well. As Keith Haring famously said, “art is for everybody.” But is this set for you? Let’s dig in!

Keith Haring – Dancing Figures will hit shelves and walls this May 15th for US $119.99 | CAN $149.99 | UK £104.99.

LEGO Pixar lamp Luxo Jr. leaps in as the next Ideas set [News]

LEGO as not been shy about releasing significant iconography from major brands recently. We’ve had logos from Star Wars and Marvel within the last year, while the Disneyland castle has seen a few iterations at different scales. Now, thanks to the Ideas line of fan-designed models, Pixar’s de facto mascot Luxo Jr. gets in on the action! 21357 Pixar Luxo Jr. was designed by Pixar and LEGO fan Toby Bennett, passing the requisite 10,000 votes in August 2023 before being approved for full release last November. Its 613 pieces will be able to recreate Luxo’s signature bouncing and bending movements, alongside the ball that appeared in its 1986 short film debut. Full release happens this June 1st, but you can pre-order it now for US $69.99 | CAN $89.99 | UK £59.99.

LEGO Icons 10360 Shuttle Carrier Aircraft [Review]

LEGO loves space shuttles. For most of my life, hardly a year has gone by without at least one space shuttle gracing the pages of a LEGO catalog. 2025’s entry to the shuttle pantheon is unique, however, as 10360 Shuttle Carrier Aircraft is the first time LEGO has made the Boeing 747 transport companion. This pair of Boeing 747 jumbo jets were specially modified to ferry the shuttle coast to coast between missions. This set depicts the Shuttle Carrier Aircraft (SCA) N905NA, a converted American Airlines 747-100 built in 1970 then sold to NASA and modified in 1976, along with the Enterprise. The Enterprise was an unpowered shuttle prototype that was launched by the SCA mid-air for glide tests. LEGO’s homage includes 2,417 pieces, and will be available early to LEGO Insiders on May 15 and to all on May 18 for US $229.99 | CAN $299.99 | UK £199.99.

LEGO Icons 10351 Sherlock Holmes: Book Nook – A study in plastic [Review]

Book Nooks are a cozy trend in decor and DIY crafting in which you assemble a diorama that fits between books on a shelf offering a window into a miniature world. They’re also the latest format that LEGO is experimenting with in finding new ways for adult fans to assemble and display brick-built models, starting with LEGO Icons 10351 Sherlock Holmes: Book Nook.   The set is exclusive to Barnes & Noble booksellers and LEGO online and retail stores beginning on June 1st, where it will retail for US $129.99 | CAN $149.99 | UK £109.99. A folding façade of 221B Baker Street full of literary easter eggs, architectural flourishes, and minifigs of iconic characters that can be tucked away on any bookshelf? In theory, it’s a match made in millennial aesthetic heaven. But is this the book nook we deserve or just a red herring? Come, Watson! The game is afoot!

NASA Space Shuttle Enterprise takes flight with LEGO Icons 10360 Shuttle Carrier Aircraft [News]

LEGO has many versions of NASA’s iconic Space Shuttle over the years, but never like this. In less than two weeks, the shuttle makes a surprise return atop a Boeing 747 as part of the LEGO Icons line.  Measuring two feet long with a wingspan of 21 inches, and featuring working 18-wheel landing gear, LEGO Icons 10360 Shuttle Carrier Aircraft follows in the wake of 2023’s Concorde as a perfect project and display model for fans of aerospace engineering. The set contains 2,417 pieces and will be available early to LEGO Insiders on May 15 and to all on May 18 for US $229.99 | CAN $299.99 | UK £199.99.
