Chris Doyle has built an incredible rendition of the phantom zone, from the Superman movies. This is truly creepy.
You probably know that already, but the creations by the Merz brothers are good reminders. Their latest sci-fi tank is showcased in a convincing manner against a realistic (but not the yard) background. Even the individual photos are stylized.
Jerac has built some fantastic renditions of Warhammer 40K space marines. He’s built several marines, and given them a matching Landspeeder and Drednaught. I’m especially impressed with the way he came up with to render the trademark oversized space marine shoulder pauldrons.
Peter C. (PeteCorp) based this Gundam model not on the series but on the 1:1 scale model found in Shizuoka. He’s also made a descriptive video (longer youtube version) for it. Utterly exceptional work at such a tiny scale.
Hans Dendauw (Tigmon74) has done a great job of capturing a moment with this diorama. The chunks flying look great, and I absolutely love the tumbling speeder bike and driver. He also seems to have used a blacklight to give the trans neon bits a bit of a glow.
This pilot and plane shot by Jon Hall doesn’t show off his Blue Lightning nearly enough but does make for a great picture. Do make sure to look at all the pics.
Sam W. (-infomaniac-) answers that question with a brick rendition of the folding city from Inception. He built the model in three scales to achieve three levels of forced perspective. It’s like the dream in a dream thing but with Lego, yea.
Bartosz Kacprzyk (the oneman) creates his version of the fire truck from Fahrenheit 451. I love the fitting retro-futuristic style of this vehicle and the plow, which I think makes the creation stand out. The warm lighting also adds to the presentation; we don’t need to see a pile of burning books to know that things are about to heat up.
Immediately after the start of the Normandy invasion on D-Day, Allied forces began a battle for the strategic port city of Cherbourg that lasted more than three weeks. My diorama highlights the aftermath of the battle, when townspeople begin emerging from the rubble, while Free French partisans hoist the Tricolour above their safe house.
