This is what we’re all about. We scour the web for the best custom LEGO models to share with you. From castles and spaceships to planes, trains, and automobiles, you’ll find the best LEGO creations from builders all over the world right here on The Brothers Brick.

In-Depth Look at The LEGO Movie Closing Credits

How many of you saw the LEGO movie? All of you? Excellent. Did you hear they’re doing a sequel, due in 2017? That’s pretty fantastic news to me. I’d love to go back to that world.

Art of the Title gives a really insightful walk-through of the process creating the end-credits, with all of those excellent micro-scale worlds. If you need a reminder of how awesome it really is, their article has it for you to watch and pause whenever you’d like. The article doesn’t name any fans by name, though you may recognize a couple of builds, like Bruce Lowell‘s cow skull and hot dog.

Which of the end-credit builds was your favorite?

Blood for the blood god, skulls for the skull throne

There’s been something of a renaissance in computer rendered Lego builds lately, and leading the charge is the prolific Garry (Garry_rocks).

Using parts in colors that have never been available toes the line of what I consider cheating, but there’s no question that the results are stunning. I’m particularly fond of these two fearsome builds from the Warhammer 40k universe.

Twins of destruction

This pair of mechs by Simmon Kim had me question if what I was seeing was indeed made out of Lego. The builder’s use of custom decals elevates these models to a new level of realism, giving them the quality of seemingly coming from a model kit.

Lego Star Wars Death Star Troopers 75034 [Review]

The Lego Star Wars Death Star Troopers is one of the three new battle packs released in March 2014. This set retails for $12.99 and is available on Amazon. Below is a brief video review and my remarks regarding the set.

The set features 4 new minifigures. The Royal Guards come with dual-colored capes and the death star gunners have different head printings. The turret has a flick-fire missle but is otherwise unremarkable and not so useful for army-building. Parts-wise, it contains an ok selection of brackets but nothing that makes it outstanding. I think this is an average battle pack.

Chicken for Dinner medieval style

Hungry? Apparently, Cagri Yuz (legoadam) is planning on chicken for the evening meal with this delightful little stone house. Each little detail is just exquisite–I am particularly fond of the door and window, myself.

In space, even Sunday laundry is interesting

I don’t know about you, but I’m not not a big fan of laundry … but Wami Delthorn shows us a wonderful glimpse in the future where I won’t have to do laundry…

Intergalactic Laundry Day

While laundry is boring, Wami’s build is anything but. It’s chock full of wonderful details that begs the viewer to take a second look at just how beautifully built this scene really is… such as the interior of the washer, the sink, and my personal favorite – the grouting on the floor.

Mechs on a Train

legorobo:waka shares this awesome armored train carrying a squad of tough looking mecha. The train’s brutal lines and tank turrets evoke a dieselpunk style, with just the right amount of detail mixed in alongside the solid slab-like surfaces.

Friday Night Fights (Round 37)

Welcome back fight fans, to Sin City Nevada for another round of Friday Night Fights! Tonight it’s a classic match of bots not seen since the rock’em sock’em days of old. Let’s go to the tale of the tape.

In the Yellow corner, Lu Sim (Messymaru) enters his thorough-breed beefy boxer:

In the Blue corner, ZephyrChaos comes in with sleek and agile fighter:

Luna (primal)

As usual, constant reader, you are tasked with deciding the outcome of this bout by way of comment. On the last edition of Friday Night Fights, the valentine’s day special there was truly love in the air as Nathan and Chris just kinda hug it out with a 4-4 tie. Tune in next week for another action packed edition of Friday Night Fights!

Build your won Ghostbusters HQ firehouse with instructions from Ecto-1 designer Brent Waller [Instructions]

Even though Brent Waller‘s LEGO Ghostbusters Ecto-1 set was recently approved as the latest official CUUSOO set, you might be among those disappointed that the beautifully rendered Firehouse in Brent’s original CUUSOO project wasn’t also approved.

But fear not! Brent has just released the step-by-step instructions for the Ghostbusters HQ in LEGO Digital Designer (LDD) format.

The Empire Builder

It’s been awhile since we’ve seen Felix (Mountain_King), but he comes back with this fantastic Steam Punk Train which chugs along and connects his Empire:

Not only is this one of the most amazing trains I’ve seen, it’s also of course a fully functional train. Felix tells us that inside this beauty there are 4 power function XL motors, the battery pack, the IR receivers and a bunch of LEDs! Oh and don’t forget to check out that awesome smoke work with the 2×2 round plates.

Check out more detailed shots of his train on his photostream.

LEGO Nautilus Ready for 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea

Alex Jones (Orion Pax) brings to brick form one of my favorite movie ships, Captain Nemo’s infamous Nautilus. Although the Disney version differs significantly from Jules Verne’s description, its distinctive styling is iconic and I’m glad Alex has chosen to follow this rendition.

The Gods Themselves Look Down Upon Us

“Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.” This oft-quoted nugget from Arthur C. Clarke is perfectly embodied in this otherworldly model by Nick V. (Brickthing). It’s not often that I’m blown away by the aesthetics of a spacecraft, but Nick is one of the best builders in the community, and has been tearing it up of late. This model, an alien “deity” worshipped by ancient humanity, à la Stargate, is a study in excellence.

To avoid making every other post here on Brothers Brick one of Nick’s new models, I’m also going to point out this stunning bonsai tree.
