LEGO reveals 712215 Brick Stick adhesive for semi-permanent LEGO displays [April Fools]

Today LEGO revealed what is sure to be a controversial product, LEGO Solutions 712215 Brick Stick. The first in a new line of products called LEGO Solutions, it is a semi-permanent adhesive to secure LEGO bricks in their final built form. While we at TBB believe LEGO has always been about creativity and being able to build and rebuild, since the introduction of the 18+ Adults range, LEGO has been targeting a different audience with complex builds designed primarily as display pieces. The Brick Stick glue (let’s call it what it is) seems to be a key part of this, which LEGO says will allow fans to ensure their display models will be in pristine shape for years. Unlike the caustic glue used in outdoor models at LEGOLAND, the company says the new Brick Stick glue is safe for ingestion, non-permanent, and can be removed by soaking the pieces in water for about 30 minutes. The Brick Stick glue will come in a box of two 40ml applicator bottles, available starting May 1 as a Gift With Purchase with qualifying purchases of 18+ sets over US $149.99 | CAN $199.99 | UK £119.99 from LEGO.com and in LEGO stores.

We had a brief chance to talk with LEGO Solutions Lead Designer Arne Lauridsen, who says that “We are aware that the core adult fan community has some reluctance about using an adhesive, since it doesn’t fit with the traditional way to use LEGO bricks. However, our research shows that there’s a significant market for this product among casual adult fans who only want to build a set once and then display it. I can’t wait to use it myself on some of my favourite sets that I do not intend to take apart, like the Darth Vader Helmet.”

Marvel’s symbiote Carnage 76199 LEGO bust revealed with Target pre-order [News]

US Retailer Target revealed that it will be releasing a Carnage LEGO bust for pre-order on March 11th at 8 am CST. The set comes with 546 pieces and no pricing details have been shared yet. Based on past series of LEGO busts revealed from the Star Wars lineup, it’s likely to be priced at USD $59.99. We’ll share more information as it’s revealed.

Melody Caddick or better known in the community as Mel Caddick is a prominent LEGO designer who has worked on or designed creations for a number of sought-after Gift Promotions issued with LEGO purchases. Biting hard into this bar of chocolate may land you a visit to the dentist

I had to do a second take as I was scrolling the LEGO channels on Flickr on this one, did someone accidentally drop a non-LEGO creation into the feed? Upon closer inspection, I was pleasantly surprised to see a familiar builder, nobu_tary and an actual 1:1 scale of a chocolate bar. Without the tooth elements in silver, I’d probably need to take a third look just to make sure. I got to admit, the chocolatey 2×4 Flat Tile can make one salivate especially when it looks quite delicious at this angle and lighting. I think what does the trick is smooth bite formed by the inverted arch brick paired with a 1×2 flat tile. Then again, how is a bite ever this smooth? I’ve been fooled nevertheless.

LEGO Education BricQ Motion is now available on LEGO online shop [News]

LEGO Education BricQ Motion is the latest package introduced by LEGO for lower and upper elementary school students to be introduced to hands-on STEAM learning (Science, Technology, Engineering Arts and Mathematics). The Brothers Brick reviewed the 45401 LEGO Education BricQ Motion Essential Set earlier this year.

First dates and breaking the ice with LEGO [News]

LEGO is doubling down on focussing on the Adult market with a video just under 2 minutes featuring six strangers out on their first date. The setting in this typical session of mixed emotions ranging from being tensed up and full of anxiety are also those moments of silence, but with one difference – a LEGO set placed between the two individuals meeting for the first time.

LEGO Ninjago Season 3 Full Trailer released [News]

LEGO just shared the full trailer for Season 3 of Ninjago. Season 3 titled The Island and is expected to be released in the first half of 2021.
