Solo: A Star Wars Story character movie posters in LEGO [News]
We got our hands on the Kessrel Run Millennium Falcon at Toy Fair in New York City yesterday, and the movie’s release is coming up in May. Naturally, the hype is ramping up, and one of the things we’ve always enjoyed about each new Star Wars movie has been LEGO versions of the movie posters. The graphic designers at LEGO have created character posters for four of the main characters in Solo: A Star Wars Story. There are posters for young Han Solo, the new Chewbacca design, new character Qi’ra (played by Emilia Clarke of Game of Thrones fame), and young Lando Calrissian.

LEGO Ninjago + Boost compatibility unveiled at New York Toy Fair 2018 [News]
The major LEGO Ninjago news from New York Toy Fair 2018 today is that the LEGO BOOST system we reviewed recently is being extended to support other product lines, starting with LEGO Ninjago dragons. This confirms information that the LEGO Boost team shared with The Brothers Brick at CES Las Vegas ahead of BOOST’s launch last year — that BOOST is designed as a long-term line, not a one-off set.
The new LEGO Ninjago set, 70652 Stormbringer will retail for $39.99 and go on sale in August (one of the only Summer 2018 sets displayed at Toy Fair). The set was showcased as part of the LEGO Boost area at Toy Fair, and no other Ninjago sets were revealed today.

LEGO Star Wars Spring 2018 sets unveiled at Toy Fair New York [News]
Live from the show floor at Toy Fair New York 2018, we’re bringing you all the new product reveals in the LEGO Star Wars line, scheduled for release later this year. We’ve already covered our hands-on take on the new Millennium Falcon, so we’ll cover the rest of the LEGO Star Wars reveals in this article.
The selection of products that LEGO revealed today is fairly limited — focused only on the April wave of sets and not the sets we know will be released in August.

Hands on with the LEGO Star Wars Han Solo movie Kessel Run Millennium Falcon at Toy Fair New York 2018 [News]
We’re live from the show floor at Toy Fair New York 2018, where LEGO held a press-only event this morning to unveil the range of LEGO sets that will be launched this spring. Unfortunately, many of the rumored and previously leaked sets are not part of the range of products on display at Toy Fair, so our coverage is somewhat more limited than in previous years.
Overall, our impression of the new Millennium Falcon is that it’s very similar to the Episode VII Falcon from The Force Awakens. We’ll take a closer look after the jump.

Swan Lake ballet automaton built from LEGO
Automata built from LEGO always amaze and inspire me. Growing up, my favorite ballet was Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake, which I had the privilege to see performed by the Bolshoi Ballet at the height of their skill in the late 70’s when they toured Japan. Pixeljunkie has built a LEGO automata with a music box inside that plays the theme from the ballet while a minifigure dancer twirls around the top.
The video showcases the music box feature, as well as the way a group of dancers can also be attached to the mechanism to dance on the stage.
Ascending from the plains into the foothills
Master microscale landscaper Full Plate brings us another lovely LEGO scene that captures the moment on a roadtrip when he finally reached rolling hills and winding roads instead of the boring plains he’d been driving on. I often feel the same way when returning to the green of western Washington State from the barren wastelands east of the Cascade Mountains. While many of the builder’s previous microscale masterpieces have featured a wide variety of trees, this build is at a smaller scale, and uses varying heights in the underlying terrain to add variety to the forest of evergreens.
Huge LEGO Star Wars carbon-freezing chamber from The Empire Strikes Back
One of the most moving scenes in The Empire Strikes Back is when Darth Vader freezes Han Solo in carbonite and hands him over to Boba Fett. Leia tells Han, “I love you.” Han of course replies, “I know.” Joshua Morris has recreated this key scene in LEGO, at a monumental scale that dwarfs 75137 Carbon Freezing Chamber (which I thought was a rather terrible set anyway). The entire platform lights up, giving it a very atmospheric look.
The platform is surrounded by tanks and pipes, with a catwalk where stormtroopers can ensure the Rebel prisoners remain compliant. “He’s alive. And in perfect hibernation,” Lando reassures Vader.
Achieve new heights in comedy with the stair car from Arrested Development
” Watch out for bridges and hop-ons. You’re going to get some hop-ons.”
TBB’s own Ralph Savelsberg continues adding to his collection of iconic vehicles with the airport stair car from the TV series Arrested Development. Ralph’s vehicles, built at a larger scale than the minifig-scale we typically feature, has a distinctive style that doesn’t shy away from showing the studs that LEGO is so famous for. With the stair car owned by the dysfunctional Bluth family, Ralph incorporates brick-built stripes as well as custom signage.
Naturally, the stairs actually extend, and the outriggers flip down to stabilize the vehicle.
