You know what we don’t have enough of? Jungle camo mechs. Fixing that problem today is Ryan with the ‘HOUND mkII”. Not only is this a great mech build, its also based on some quality artwork by StTheo.
I’m getting a lot of Armored Cored vibes here, but it manages to strike out its own aesthetic. I really like the missile pods on the left shoulder and the chaff launchers around the torso—a technique I just might steal.
I’m loving Nexo Knights, and it seems chubbybots is too — they didn’t just use the theme, they also created a great model.
I really like this. Not only is it a competent mech model, but it would fit right into the Nexo Knights set range as a robot for the character Clay. While the amount of gray jars at first, it works well when you think of it as a suit of armour.
It seems serendipity has struck again. As I started reading H.P. Lovecraft: the Collected Fiction, Leonid An comes up with this awesome microscale build titled “The servant of Cthulhu”.
To fully appreciated the great scale in this scene, check out this intimidating shot which also shows of the build of that little ship, which cleverly uses short minifig capes for sails.
While I’m not one for the current popular trend of taking pictures of LEGO in the outdoors, this build by Dödke deserves some attention. The stork’s design is instantly recognisable, and the shallow, rock-lined water pool adds a lot to the build.
Unfortunately, this also comes with some sad news as the builder states that this stork, Kele, was named after an animal that was killed. Luckily, it’s now immortalised in the brick!
Another day, another great build from nobu_tary. This time we have a knight that clearly didn’t skip leg day and could probably do more damage to you with a kick than with a stab from that polearm. Standouts here are the great head, which manages to make a thick plume work, as well use of a new Nexo Knights pointed piece to great effect. The loincloth made of a minifig-scale banner piece (from the Knights Kingdom theme) is also a nice touch.
LEGO castles are a well-practiced art form at this point, so it takes a lot to impress us here at The Brothers Brick. But this pop-up Himeji Castle has left us dumbfounded! According to Japanese builder talapz, whose pop-up Kinkaku-ji temple and Todai-ji temple we’ve featured previously, it took 15 months to complete and weighs 12.5 kilograms (27.5 pounds).
Amazingly, the pop-up and folding action is done entirely with the friction of LEGO pieces, because no glue was used to keep the bricks together. Even when the castle is folded down to its “storage” mode, it measures in at 70 x 70 x 11.5 cms (27.5 x 27.5 x 4.5 inches).
I watch a lot of movies. Hell, I even review them occasionally as part of my job. Unfortunately, I still miss a few important titles. The Princess Bride was one such movie, until a few days ago when I found myself with a copy of it and a couple of free hours. It seems serendipitous then, that W. Navarre has created a LEGO version of the infamous “Machine” from the torture scenes in the movie:

While LEGO creations seem to get the most recognition when they’re insanely huge, I prefer smaller creations, especially mechs. Don’t get me wrong, Gundam-esque / skyscraper robot suits will always be cool, but I like my mechs just big enough to fit minifigs, so they could feasibly slip into a City scale town. In that vein, Hoon Kim brings us these twin mechs. To fully appreciate these builds, be sure to check out one of the cockpit shots to see how snug those pilots are.
I’m a bit taken aback by this car, called “Soapbox” by builder Vince Toulouse. Although known to be a talented builder (check out past builds featured on The Brothers Brick), this one is most definitely my favourite.
From the tubular main body, to the spindly pinions and the elongated exhaust pipes, it’s flawless on a macro level. As you zoom in you notice great little touches like the plume hood ornament, and the interior is just as pretty.
Even if you’re not of a certain age, chances are you’ve played (and loved) the classic DOOM series of first-person shooter games. And while today, Friday the 13th, may be seen as unlucky, it’s extremely fortuitous as the newest installment in that series, simply titled DOOM, releases today.
To celebrate the occasion, builders Cezium and Dylan Mievis have been pumping out a series of Bionicle-style representations of various creatures from the game. Check out the builds below and click the names of the demons to see the original game versions, so you can compare them to their LEGO counterparts.

If you haven’t seen Captain America: Civil War yet, you’re doing yourself a great injustice. Not only does it show Batman V Superman how to do a hero punch-up, but it manages to be the best ensemble movie Marvel has done so far.
But today we’re here to talk about Iron Man and Captain America making an appearance in the brick, thanks to the talented hands of Tyler Clites.
While I’ve never really taken to the CubeDude aesthetic (or, worse yet, the bastardizations that are Funko Pop figurines), I really like Tyler’s rendition of the characters. They’re enough on the chibi side to be cute without becoming bobble-headed messes.
Also notice the great use of the smaller ball joints (AKA Mixel joints) on the legs. Then pan upwards to see that the shoulders don’t use the same system. I think this build is also a great example of why the fan community likes more variations of small joints in type as well as colour.
