She thinks my tractor is...

Big? Powerful? Full of dirt? Whatever she thinks about, what matters is that it gets the job done. Here in Idaho, where I’m from, John Deere tractors like this LEGO build from Jonathan Elliot are essential to making sure the rest of North America has enough french fries to go around.
John Deere Tractor

It’s incredible how much detail is packed into so few bricks. I like the flashing lights on top, essential when using county roads to get from field to field. The variation in tire size is a good touch. Even here in this tiny build, they still look huge! I also appreciate Jonathan’s use of black pieces to make it seem like there’s a lot of metal framing exposed, just like real tractors. Everything in this creation is spot on.

Happy Hothdays and Merry Sithmas!

It’s that wonderful time of year, when the shriek of TIE Fighters can be heard in the winter sky, turbolasers pound Christmas-green plasma into nearby starships, and Imperial forces swarm like snowflakes across enemy ground positions. Armored walkers inch closer to the rebel base, with each walker hoping to go home and cozy up by the fire. LEGO builder SeanBr1cks shows one particular AT-AT getting some of that holiday cheer after a long day of crushing insurrections.

A Cozy Hothmas

There are a lot of fun easter eggs in this build: the Millennium Falcon wrapped as a Christmas gift, the X-wing and TIE fighter dogfight around the tree, and the mounted Rebel snowspeeder over the mantle. Everything is full of the holiday spirit! Sean’s clever use of bricks doesn’t just show off his building skills. They tell a story, one that we’re all familiar with yet laced with Star Wars fun.

Actual Photo of the 1914 Christmas Truce, Colorized

After another year of waging war, both sides of the conflict put down their blasters and held a holiday celebration. Builder Carter Witz displayed the historical setting that took place a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away.

Christmas on Hoth

Let’s look at this on a deeper level. I’ve never seen that model of AT-AT before. It’s very detailed and fits perfectly into the scene, lifting Vader to the top of the tree to place the star. The large columns are both beautiful and straight-up Empire, with Imperial lighting helping light the room. And what’s in the kegs by the window? Cider? Cocoa? Coaxium?

This build goes to show that not everything has to be about fighting and blowing stuff up. You can use good and evil forces from the darkest of moments to create holiday cheer and warm feelings towards everyone. Isn’t that right, Mr. Wampa?

A castle ready for anything

With the dawn of the day, Crow Knights once again begin their dutiful watch over the land. Builder markus19840420 gives us a beautiful glimpse of the Crow Knights as they keep the kingdom safe.

Crow Knight Outpost

An incredible LEGO build resulted from hard work and tedious craftmanship. The way the water flows across the area’s base is stunning, especially how it flows off the edge like a waterfall. The plant life is perfectly placed. I admire the use of white in the tower walls. It’s not usually a color used unless the castle is nearly completely white, but here it works, contrasting enough with the grey to make the yellow and black of the Crow Knights’ uniforms pop.
