Tony Sava (SavaTheAggie) shows of his photography skills (and his excellent cathedral) with this brilliant showcase of the ‘grown-up’ LEGO town sets. I know we’ve blogged the cathedral before but this photo was too good to ignore.

BrickCon 2010: Last-minute logistics
BrickCon 2010 starts this Thursday (with the public exhibition on Saturday and Sunday). If you’re not ready yet — I know I’m not — you don’t have a whole lot of time left!
First, today and tomorrow are your last chance to register your MOC cards. Remember, only registered LEGO creations are eligible to win prizes.
At this point, your main concerns should probably be packing and traveling. (See our BrickCon 2009 logistics post for links to suggestions on how to pack your LEGO so it travels safely.)
As for getting to the convention location for less than five bucks, Mark Sandlin has updated his Infothingy™ to reflect the fact that our light rail now goes all the way from Sea-Tac Airport to Westlake Center. Throw in a bonus monorail ride to take you the rest of the way, and it’s not only inexpensive but down right awesome:
With nearly 400 registered attendees, BrickCon 2010 is shaping up to be the biggest yet. See you all there later this week!
Atlantis in Micro
The entries for Classic-Castle‘s Mini Castle Contest VI are starting to crop up, including Rod Gillies‘s study of Atlantis before the whole sinking incident. The whole thing is just gorgeous and completely captures a water-front city in its heyday.
Space Marines!
Jerac has built some fantastic renditions of Warhammer 40K space marines. He’s built several marines, and given them a matching Landspeeder and Drednaught. I’m especially impressed with the way he came up with to render the trademark oversized space marine shoulder pauldrons.
Owl. By Jordan.
This is such an adorable little feathered guy, he was just begging to be posted. The combination of cuteness and presentation really does it for me. Well played, Jordan, well played.
Roasted minifig heads
Apparently that’s what Mr. Sharkman is selling. This vignette by Harlen (tomi&tree) is whimsically creepy. It’s even more interesting to see his adorable four year old son play with his new toy in this video.

RX-78 Gundam
Peter C. (PeteCorp) based this Gundam model not on the series but on the 1:1 scale model found in Shizuoka. He’s also made a descriptive video (longer youtube version) for it. Utterly exceptional work at such a tiny scale.
Evil is the absence of good
Take a close look at this creation by Alex Eylar and you’ll understand the title.
Clever title by Dablackcat
Devastatingly good looking
It all seems to be a bit quiet here at the moment. Luckily Aaron Dayman made the Devastaku a little bit back which has some lime and purple for us to ogle.
Shop palooza
I want to shop at this department store by t-brick, or simply stare in awe at those ground floor window frames.
Brickbaron makes words with droid arms
Paul Hetherington (Brickbaron) once again lets his creativity loose in his latest creation of a Mardi Gras float. The letters made out of mostly droid arms is definitely the highlight of the show, though the patterns on the sides are also very interesting.
When a bath isn’t just a bath.
Remind me never to go to Azaghal‘s private island for dinner. I’m not quite sure I could stomach what’s on the menu. Not at all.
Bananas in soup is just too much for me.
