Dr. Monochrome’s Monodome

tiberium_blue is fast becoming a popular name on Flickr with his recent noteworthy creations. This interesting scene of Dr. Monochrome’s Monodome is his latest crowd pleaser (which he hopes will please the judges of the Brickscience Contest as well).

Racer Mechs roundup

The racer mechs started by Legohaulic have inspired various versions created by other builders. The simple and sturdy design of the basic frame (building instructions) allows for much diversity to these runner machines, as you can see below.

Mechs from top left created by: Legohaulic, Proudlove, Nannan, arpy , peterlmorris , Legohaulic, -: Evo :-, Hase0, Pyreƒyre, and legovaughan.

But that’s not all folks, there’s certainly a few more that you should check out. See them all in the flickr Racer Mecha pool.

Yo, ho, ho and a bottle of...Champagne

Former Master Model Designer Mariann Asanuma breaks onto the scene with this very nifty Champagne bottle.

Built for the opening ceremony at LEGOLAND California’s Pirate Shores, this bottle is designed to “break” into five pieces as well:

Don’t open the trap door. I mean it.

Aaron Andrews lets something in with this nicely detailed vignette. I really like the posing of the red minifig in this one. Aaron has always been a talented builder, but he has been definitely improving on his fig posing lately. Cheers, Aaron!

Mike Crowley goes Country

Mike Crowley, aka Count Blockula, has done it again. But this time he does it on the farm.

Check out his Hen and Pig, as well.

RAMM Hauptpanzer main battle tank by Dean Hofmeyer

Dean Hofmeyer joins the RAMM revolution with his Hauptpanzer main battle tank:

Walking tanks are always full of win in my book, but look at all those “cheese” (1 x 1 x 2/3) slopes!

See more pictures on Next-Gen and read background info from Dean in his blog post on YSAB.

(Sorry guys, I can never top “Yonder Splendid Assuagement of Bloviation“.)

Castaway t’ Neverland by SlyOwl

The new LEGO Pirates fan community at ForbiddenCove.com is certainly inspiring some wonderful pirate-themed LEGO creations lately!

One of my favorites so far is “Castaway t’ Neverland” by SlyOwl:

Brick-built creatures populating the desert island include a gull, hummingbird, crabs, and monkey. Note the horns for breakers and the microscale ship in the background, as if off in the distance. Brilliant!

Mapping out Nnenn’s greatness

Over the recent years, we’ve seen numerous great spaceworks from Nnenn on a weekly basis, but we have never seen them all at once. Now, Nnenn presents one image that captures most of his works, showing what a truley amazing and prolific LEGO space builder that he is.

Note: all of these models are dismantled, since it would take an overly massive collection to sustain so many in-tact creations all at once.

BrickBoys’ Etyvon variations

BrickBoys Etyvon

I’ve not encountered the BrickBoys before but their Etyvon fighter displays a masterful integration of Bionicles and regular LEGO to create very unusual shapes and texturing. The colour variants are nice too. Be warned though that the images are big so it’s not for slow connections.
