I’m still getting caught up on what was posted while I was in Texas. This one by Matt Armstrong was definitely a highlight!

A Day at the Races
Frog Races, that is. This diorama by Matt Armstrong cracked me up! Someone needs to investigate that frog…
Dr Transistor
Malaysian LEGO fan Teikjoon introduces us to Dr Transistor. And let’s not forget the lovely Nurse Muggins. Enough said.
BMP-5 “Zhukov” IFV
Aleksander Stein has created an incredibly detailed upgrade to the BMP family. I’m really digging the sloped design of the body and it can fit a lot of figs in there!
Every Evil Genius needs a mini-sub
More LEGO Gradius creations from Peter Morris
Our second and third LEGO Vic Vipers of the day come from NoVVember co-creator Peter Morris.
Here’s his SC-5 Ramius, with gorgeous dark blue and orange highlights almost reminiscent of the color scheme from Ice Planet 2002:
And a very different ZR-15A Widowmaker:
I wonder if the creators of Gradius back in 1985 ever imagined people would still be paying homage to their game more than 20 years later…
The Brick Testament updated with Book of Job
Comforting to some, deeply challenging to others, the Book of Job has long stirred discussion among believers in the Judeo-Christian religious tradition.
The Rev. Brendan Powell Smith gives Job The Brick Testament treatment with eight pictorial stories, including God speaking to Job from within a whirlwind:
Daniel lays siege to Elenaï
Daniel Z charges into the Colossal Castle Contest VI with “The Siege of Elenaï.”
The trebuchet and wooden hoardings are certainly excellent, but my favorite detail is the group of sappers who think they’ve dug deep enough to mine under the moat. They’re in for a surprise!
Goliathus regius
For his contribution to NoVVember, Shannon Ocean takes his inspiration from the natural world.
Specifically, Shannon’s Goliath heavy transport was inspired by the enormous Goliath beetles of Africa:
McGlone sculpts Giger’s Li II
H. R. Giger was a brilliant sculptor with a fantastic mind whose work has inspired a generation. Bryce McGlone‘s faithful adaptation of Li II showcases Giger’s spectacular creepiness, made more haunting in all black LEGO brick. Giger’s work features spectacular detail, skulls, and women of nightmares. Bryce captures this with an exquisite sculpture of the figure’s face, complete with tendrils and greebles everywhere to capture the iconic feel of the original.
Compare details between Bryce and Giger’s work: both beings stare into your soul and haunt your dreams.
How a soldier spends his bonus
Nick Dean‘s clever vending machine dispenses more bang for your buck. The ammo clips and military supplies are encased in two window pane pieces. This delightful checkpoint is a perfect item to own in your military base.
Gesha Freighter
Jarek’s (Jerrec) microscal space Gesha Freighter is the latest marvel in microspace engineering. Using the tipper bed piece from set 7798, Jarek craftly simulates the hull of the freighter while creating an illusion that the model is much larger, when my inspection estimates it at around 11″ long.
With photo-editing, you can see the freighter in various industrial colors. Unfortunately it is impossible to actually make the model in any color other than green, since the tipper piece is only produced in that color.
